I didn't realize that Flores was going when I made the initial tweet. It obviously makes sense for Grier to be in Bama today.
Assuming QBs go 1-4, one of Pitts or Chase will be there at 6. I guess the disaster scenario would be Pitts at 4, Chase at 5.
I think the falcons jump on fields at 4. Local kid who just crushed his pro-day. That leaves pitts or chase at 6. I’m fine with either at this point
we are quickly reaching the point where I will be devastated if we end up with the guy who won the Heisman trophy last year at 6
If Pitts/Chase are gone at 6 do you trade down with Carolina, pick up another pick and take one of Smith/Waddle?
Yes I’m starting to get nervous that both Pitts and Chase are going to be gone by 6, someone calm me down please.
No problem with avoiding a 2010-like two TE offense and getting a far more productive and championship pedigree player from Bama or LSU
If you really think you’d be getting that with a guy in Pitts who just ran a 4.44....idk what to tell you
This. Pitts is a damn polar bear with upper tier WR speed. It doesn't matter if he never lines up with his hand on the ground, he's going to cause problems in the NFL
I’d think after watching Waller torch us last year it gave Flores and Grier an idea on how destructive a hybrid that’s too fast for LB’s and too big for DB’s to cover could be
I'm just trolling Jack, but in reality I would be very happy with any of the 4. I do think there is more you can do with a true WR than Pitts but he's a freak and we'd be very lucky to have him too. However I don't think there is nearly the gap between Pitts and Chase and Waddle/Smith than most think. If Waddle could test he would be dropping jaws too and have a lot of people talking about what a freak he is. I do understand the size concerns with Smith but Waddle is a 4.3 guy that can do it all too.
Question though- Gesicki is basically a WR too that offers no blocking. If we do draft Pitts, what would y'all do with Gesicki after next year? Let him walk? I'm not implying that we shouldn't draft Pitts just b/c we have Gesicki, it's a separate question
This While I do understand there are going to be running down situations that require a TE who can block, I just don’t see how having two hybrid WE/TE mismatch types can be a problem
I’m going to lean pitts over chase slightly, but give me either one. If both gone at 6 I’d probably see if I couldn’t get Carolina to move up and take one of the bama WRs at 8. Not unhappy with any of the 4 or Sewell tbh though
Still have a hard time believing the Bengals would pass on Sewell at 5 for a receiver, especially with Higgins in the fold
