I think he'll end up being an overall solid MLB OF. Not spectacular at any one thing, but just solid. Of course that won't be for another few years...
Didn’t he and Pratto deal with injuries throughout 2019? I might be making that up. Sounds like both were really good at the satellite camp last year.
Pretty much every position player in the Royals minor league system traveled on the same struggle bus with each other, so I choose to overlook 2019s offensive numbers.
It's this particular move, just in general. I know he refuses to play the service time game, and Isbel probably doesn't even justify the shenanigans, but it drives me crazy that he won't do it when our market and budget is one where it's critical.
Tickets acquired for Saturday. First game since September 2019. Can't freaking wait. Parking is $20 now which is asinine.
If we end up being bummed out because we lost a year of Isbel because we let him do his thang in 2021...well, I think that would mean good things.
It's not that I'm upset about this move in particular, and in the end it isn't going to matter anyway, just an example of DM mismanaging the limited assets at his disposal. And yes, if he performs well enough for us to be sad he's leaving, well, that's one of them good problems.
Oh dirt. You've been burned too many times by good spring training records to think it's a true indicator.
Way too lazy to try and find the numbers but I'd love to see what his BABIP was to sport a .323 average
now we’re cooking. Still need to make space for isbel and brentz/any of the other pitchers who may make it
The ability to get cheap tickets on the secondary market was already going away, Covid will officially kill it. Long gone are the days of paying some sketchy guy cash in the parking lot for bargain tickets. The convenience of mobile-everything is nice, but now the sports leagues and/or entertainment venues will have a stranglehold on the secondary market. It was already happening in the NFL.
Nicky gonna go 3-4 with a couple ribbies tomorrow and cement his spot on the roster for the entirety of 21.
Honestly, I'd offer him something like 4/$20 or 5/$25 and tell him to take it or leave it. Otherwise, we play out arbitration and good riddance.
