Does The Show offer an online league where you play cpu and user teams? Would be cool to have a little of both and play like an 81 game season. Some weeks you have all cpu games, someone weeks you have a user game or two.

Ahh I remember that from last years league. Can't remember if you can add cpu teams or not. Thoughts on live rosters or DD squads? Things can be uneven either way. There are two types of leagues in The Show 20: The 40-Man Live MLB Leagues use the 40-man rosters of all 30 teams that are updated frequently throughout the year. If you’re not happy with your current roster, try making some trades! Diamond Dynasty Collection Leagues allows you to use your entire Diamond Dynasty Collection of player items to build your lineup. Commissioners can even set restrictions on team overalls to keep things even.
With 1, the person with the Dodgers has an advantage over everybody. But if we're doing 8 teams, everyone has a solid team. Going with 2, someone thay grinds a lot or buys a God squad would have a pretty big advantage over someone rolling with a bunch of silvers. But I do think 2 is the most fun bc you can build your own team.
Yeah I think on BR they’ll do that where you can have a 99 but the average overall has to be X. So you just mix in some silver/golds so it works.
sounds about right? Although I don’t know if I really should join - I’m interested, but the next couple of months are going to be absolute shit for me at work
I’m the same. Going solo so I really need to ramp shit up to feel comfortable. I want to, just don’t want to have to bail because I need to do ten other things irl.
Do any of you guys use those KontrolFreek things on the joysticks? Saw people on Reddit talking about them so I got some last year, kind of forgot about it until I turned the game on today. I can’t decide if I like them/they help much.
There are a couple different types I have the high and mids. I just laughed typing this but bought them for the game. Last year in the doldrums of this shit this game was fantastic for me personally. Anyhow, I really do like them, had a mid level inverted pair I really like. They’re just comfortable I guess, I like them for all games.
I will have to see which ones I got last year. I think I got used to them but they also feel like they’re kind of high and make the stick move way too fast rather than “precise” Mine are red. I think the “inferno” ones.
I only use the left side for the bat. I always wish I could use my right thumb for that, feel like I’d be more accurate as my dominant hand. I always wonder if lefties are better with this game as a result.
Whats funny is I feel like I don’t mind it on my right stick for pitching but when it’s on my left one for the PCI it’s like the PCI ends up out of the zone so fast
Yeah I just looked I have the high ones, I want to say I have the mid for Xbox and those feel better. Maybe I’ll order the mid for PS4 before 21 comes out, they’re only like 15 bucks why not lol
That’s how I felt and I ended up with three. Also I know you’re an Xbox guy but what I bought for 4 fits the 5 so that was nice because I would have been convinced I sucked at the game because of that until I made another purchase.
lol I did notice that on the site so that’s nice. I’m thinking I’m going to end up getting ‘21 for PS4. I doubt I’ll be able to find a next gen console soon, and I’d rather stick with the console that the game has been on forever rather than risk Xbox (not that I expect issues). Only reason I was really leaning Xbox was that’s what a few of my friends will have it for so we’d be able to be in the same party chat, etc.
I’ll admit I haven’t look as hard as I’m sure most people have but anytime I do it seems like that’s the case. Saw a couple people on TheShow Reddit the other day joking about how they just got Nextgen and “spent way too much” on them buying 3rd party.
I can’t stress enough, worth its weight in gold just for the fucking load times. When this thread picked back up I completed a bunch more Showdown and moments for guys I didn’t complete just because it didn’t take 15 minutes to load everything.
I like dicking around in the offline modes in DD and collecting cards and shit like that, but I have zero motivation to build my squad of all 99s and play homerun derby online.
I've gotten to 6-0 a couple times but can't get any further. I've probably drafted 30 teams in the last few weeks.
Well the Franchise update is shit. Not surprised. https://www.operationsports.com/mlb-the-show-21-franchise-mode-and-march-to-october-details/
it's launching on Gamepass https://www.polygon.com/22363817/mlb-the-show-21-xbox-game-pass-release-date-one-series-x
Sweet, I just pre ordered. Confirmation I am off next Friday and Monday. Have “work project” Saturday, looking forward to the Show.
I thought Xbox was doing a deal where you signed up for Xbox live and received game pass with it. Not sure if that is still active probably around $60 a year for a good library of games and exclusives on release day
Looks like it’s now a dollar for the first month and then 14.99 after that. From how I read it at least.
150 outfield walls to choose from. You can edit them, but if you edit the wall at all, you can't use it online in DD. You can change everything else, just can't edit the wall from those 150.
Told myself I spent too much time last summer on The Show and DD and wasn't going to get '21 at launch but here I am debating if it's worth the extra $25-40 to get the game 4 days early along with all the other bonuses.
So finished my first year with a 186-211 record. I don’t think that’s horrible considering it took me until the end of July to beat a Showdown. I was pretty much up there praying for a few months. From that same page, all online gameplay highs. 41 hits 49 runs 22 homers 19 sb ks 24 some dude put down his controller so it was HR derby time. I don’t recall the 24 k game, but pretty sure it was degroms debut and a no no. What a fantastic waste of time! Honestly genuinely glad I had it during the shit show that was last year. It was definitely an escape during a time with no sports and nothing but horrible news.
Pre ordered mine yesterday, suppose to arrive thurs/friday. Gonna be out of town Friday night and Saturday. Had trade in credit so i yolo’d it and hopefully will get a few games in Friday and then play Sunday afternoon
From everything I read most people fit into two categories. You either play DD or franchise. If you play one you generally hate the other. Most of us in here are DD players, as far as I am aware. edit: from what I saw on Reddit the franchise group seemed happy.
Got my pre-order in today, should have it Friday. Looking forward to actually getting started on DD at launch instead of three or four months later when I'd normally pick the game up.
About 1:15 in...I assume it’s something like how last year they had cards based on that guy’s Cy Young or Silver Slugger season.
Not sure who else would be in the game though, unless that is specific for Soriano. Can’t imagine they put Canseco in, and it doesn’t seem like A-Rod is likely. Bonds wasn’t even in MVP Baseball lol
