The women signed their names to the statement. Not the press release saying they all did it voluntarily.
Voluntary statements can be made at someone’s request. The statement isn’t saying they weren’t prompted to make the signed statements. It just says they called/emailed in support without being solicited.
Curious to know what kind of clause his contract has so Texans don’t have to pay him. I’m all in on Texans ownership getting screwed, but Watson potentially not getting a dime after all this is pretty good too.
For sure. I don’t see how anyone can’t see that who is standing by him. Unbiased fandom of a stranger is weird to me too though.
Some people recognize that fact patterns change with time and are willing to adapt their point of view with these fact patterns. Many dig in because they feel attacked or attacked by proxy or feel that they'll be considered wrong at some point in time (the horror).
I'll give Clemson fans credit, I thought this would be spun much harder. We'll see if they start digging in on college days though. I wonder how Steve Fuller feels about giving up his number
Yeah, I understand them defending Dabo because as of now there is no indication this goes back to college. Not really a fan of opposing fans assuming Dabo covered shit up
It's bigger than Dabo. Clemson is a Deep State situation. They have been covering up shady shit by athletes my entire life Pawwwwlllll
You're trying to tell me this exact point hasn't been brought up in white collar offices as well across the upstate the past few weeks
that sounds like fantastic pedantic legalese where I'm sure there's some minute difference between being prompted to make a statement at someone's request and being solicited to make a statement at someone's request but it ends up being the same basic thing in practice. I'm absolutely of the mind Watson doesn't inappropriately touch every masseuse he's ever seen because that would be just unrealistic but these statements also don't really seem to mean much given how many women he's racking up saying the exact opposite.
Feels like we're due for a title change. The texans don't appear to be watson's biggest opponent now. Also that clemson board is gross and not dissimilar from texags, which I've always viewed as a unicorn.
It’s not pedantic. You just misread the statement. And I totally agree that the statements from masseuses he didn’t abuse are worthless. In fact, I think it’s more damning.
Just personal opinion, but I think that the fact that he treated real licensed masseuses with respect and dignity makes hunting down non-masseuses on social media to sexually assault worse...
The majority of the women were all licensed from what I've read. And also the majority of the group who support Watson were also contacted via Instagram if you read their statements. I think it's more likely that typically, he gets a normal massage, but then other times he starts digging in for the extras. That doesn't make it any less wrong. You can still be a killer, but not kill everyone. The obvious weird action is getting massages from 50+ different women within basically a year time frame, but I'm probably old fashioned and boring.
Most say they were massage therapists trying to grow their business, etc. Said they've given numerous massages and his behavior was abnormal. My point is that having 18 women coming forward in support of you is immaterial. Just because someone is respectful to 18 people but sexually assaults one woman makes you a criminal.
the way this all unfolded is weird af, too. like, the odds are extremely high this all either stays quiet or at least stays hidden for awhile longer if he either re-signs without hassle or the Texans trade him like he has asked (or the franchise treats him respectfully and includes his input more in their processes thus keeping him happy and not asking for a trade). just a bizarre sequence of events.
Ok but it seems like there is probably a better way to say all that than a statement that reads like you’re fondling yourself about finding out the identity of a victim. Like that seems like something you should be excited about as a lawyer but probably not mention.
and another lawsuit, the count is now 22. this is Cosby territory now, there is no way public opinion will ever swing for him. settle the lawsuits and go start a family or something and just be thankful you won't spend the next decade getting CTE, I guess.
