Our fans are making some great catches these first two games. Love to see it. Almost forgot how much I enjoy fan watching between pitches.
Besides that opener that series went about as well as we could've asked. Davies and Arrieta both with very solid starts, Kimbrel looked excellent in both outings, Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, and Heyward hit well. Joc doing nothing was the biggest disappointment. I'm still not expecting to be a playoff team until we get this consistent production from that core, but we might be able to deal some guys at the deadline to contenders to further build up the farm system.
I genuinely don’t think they sell if they are in the hunt. They’re not going to get a good package for any of the expiring contracts.
I get Kimbrel can't go again but Mills is a strange choice to close instead. He's so vulnerable to HRs I'm surprised they didn't try Tepera there.
Honestly it’s impressive how pathetic they’ve been. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team collectively start a season hitting this poorly. Ross has to start getting some heat if this continues because while we haven’t been built to compete with Dodgers and Yankees, we still have enough talent that this offensive output isn’t acceptable. Also love how we’ve prided ourselves for years on building the farm system up with hitters and it’s the pitching that’s carrying the team so far.

I know it's been discussed many times before but it's still almost beyond belief how bad they've fucked up Marquee/the broadcast in general. Which is fine because I'm not spending another $ to (legally) watch this team until all of the non-Laura Ricketts are dead.
Rossy needs to show some fucking fire for once. Just got hosed out of a run and he’s out there with his hands in his pockets being friendly. Makes me miss Maddon. This team is so damn flat and sloppy.
There ya go Rossy. Good to know he’s reading the thread. Got tossed but barely even stepped out of the dugout. Smh. edit: Guess it wasn’t him who got tossed. I’m back out on him. No fire.
I have a hard time caring about this team anymore. They are so frustrating to watch and every decision ownership seems to make is just to line their pockets and not put a competitive team on the field.
It's truly amazing that all this young talent peaked for the world title and just about every single one of the players on this roster has regressed since. I'm not upset at all how we are positioned going into this off-season. Get ready for a massive roster overhaul.
Going into this season I thought Baez was going to be the one piece we held onto. Now I'm wondering how long until they pull the plug on him
He’s a very high risk high reward player. Starting to look like no one got paid cause they want to see who is worth it and so far I’m glad no one has gotten paid.
Yep. But Javy surprised me most. We took such a huge step back last year. Another huge step back this year. Gonna be saying farewell to a lot of guys, unfortunately, if things don't change drastically
2.5 years ago and ain't shit changed. I'm amazed they've basically kept rolling the same shit out there YoY.
Aww yes we are back to the point of scoring 12 runs one game and then next 3 games we average 2 hits.
