We have a french butter keeper we use to keep butter in. We use that maybe 20 percent of the time. The other 80 percent of the time we just keep a stick of butter out on a small plate. If it's salted, there's nothing to worry about...and if it's not salted there are better things to worry about than that as well.
Agreed. (Unsalted is only for baking, IMO.) Half of my unsalted is in the freezer, half in the fridge. Most of my salted butter is in the fridge except for the one stick in the butter dish which is left out on the counter. My tub spreads (half butter/ half oil) are kept in the fridge.
The good thing about refrigerating bread is it lasts longer and doesn't mold. I do it sometimes if I'm not eating much
You prob won't have time to fight while you wait for your bread to unthaw. Meanwhile I'll be enjoying a sandwich
Yesterday I saw a grey Honda that has yellow fenders and hood with a black cobra painted on the hood and a large sign blocking one of the back windows that said “I guns and titties”
i can see leaving a stick out if you’re using mad butter but it typically took my roommate more than a week to use it all. das nasty imo
I do if we aren't going to use it for a while, which obv should be one loaf at max. I put bread in the fridge too since we don't go through it quickly.
My refrigerated bread lasts an eternity. And when I pull it out and slather it up with soft, room temperature butter, it spreads evenly. I think people destroying the surface of their stale AF bread with cold, hard butter need to do the explaining itt. Further kudos to my bread freezing brethren.
I keep my bread in the bread drawer. Unsalted for baking (it’s easier to adjust the salt in a recipe if you add the salt last and don’t have any salt in the butter) I keep some in the fridge for bread, some frozen for pie crusts, etc. Salted for normal eating (on bread, pancakes, etc) LoL Olive Oil/Butter spread almost exclusively for grilled cheese.
I don’t eat a lot of bread, but it really is great for certain snacks or lunches. If I keep my bread out it gets moldy before I can use all of it, I put it in the fridge, warm it up in the toaster when I want to. Boom!: save AT MINIMUM 3 bucks every 4 months. That butter thing sounds like some wack ass wannabe European shit tho.
