Fair enough, he’s definitely not as funny as he use to be in my opinion. Been around long enough to see a rise, peak, and decline which will happen if they don’t die or quit.
Yeah: taste in humor is subjective like music. Hard to pick a best because of that. Burr like CK had two really incredible early specials. It’s hard to maintain that and live up to that. Chappell hit the same problem too, but has sense come back and really hitting on some good stuff again. If Eddie would have kept going after Delirious and Raw he probably would have been meh too. Hard to keep that level of greatness up as a comedian
Mark Normand is really funny. Burr has been my favorite for about twelve years. His podcasts still crack me up as long as he’s not talking hockey or rock n roll drummers.
He tries too hard but he has his moments. Taylor Tomlinson has a new stand up and it’s decent. She’s also really easy on the eyes
Yea I haven't been able to settle on a good definition of when I think BK is funny and when he isn't. I like him more on Rogan just being himself and telling stories. His standup or TV stuff just seems like he overperforms.
michaelscottthankyou.gif I've most enjoyed those appearances on Conan (when he destroys Conan) and outside of that he's never moved the needle for me.
Good for him for checking in; 2020 has been nightmare fuel for addicts I imagine and he’s been busy as fuck the last few years which probably didn’t help.
So Tom Segura blew out an arm and a leg filming a sketch playing basketball with Bert? Sounds like they’ve got it on camera, too.
They’re apparently going to air it on their live stream New Year’s Eve. But yeah, he got fucked up. Has tweeted pictures of some gnarly stitched up incisions.
I watched the clip from 2B1C of Christina and Bert discussing it. It sounds catastrophic. Tom is going to milk this shit for all that it's worth.
Yeah I can't wait to watch it. Tristan Jass, the youtuber they were playing with put up the first half on his channel last week and is putting out the 2nd half new years day after they play it on 2 bears live. Tom falls down towards the end and the docs/Bert say it was cummilative and you can tell he's taking the whole thing kinda seriously. Christina P and Bert did a 2 bears and you can watch Tina slowly becoming aware Tom's been having a midlife crisis during the pandemic. Its all pretty funny to me idk.
I stumbled across this clip a couple weeks ago and thought something like this may have happened. Just didn’t look right.
This was fucking weird but I love Bobby and they tried. Idk that I’ve ever seen Bobby so frustrated. Ned is too stupid and narcissistic to get out of his own way going on 15 years now. “Stealing is like rape to me”
New Nate Bargatze Netflix special out this week. Also, one of the Nashville comedians he does his podcast, Nateland, with put out his debut album last week, and put it up on YouTube for free: Its good stuff
Seeing Bill Burr, Sarah Silverman, Jeff Ross, Iliza, etc tonight. Will report back with anything of interest.
That bad huh? I got tickets to see Burr in KC in September. Am excite. Maybe my all time favorite comedian.
I actually thought I posted an update on this but apparently not. Burr crushed - the rumor was Chapelle was coming but last minute wasn't able to. David Spade was the "surprise guest" and he was better than I expected. I'm amazed I didn't get roasted by Jeff Ross because I was coming from a meeting and was probably the most overdressed person there. Also you can definitely tell that the comics are doing what they can to adjust their sets now having to perform in parking lots with lawn furniture, etc when they're used to performing in massive venues.
Bill Burr show here in Atlanta just got rescheduled from last year. It's not until October but something to look forward to at least. This will be my 4th time seeing him live and he has been incredible every time. We were randomly there for the taping of the Netflix special he did in black and white
that special is one of my favorites. The part where he is telling the story about buying a car and the guy asks him if he wants to shoot his gun in an abandoned lot and then Burr goes “everywhere else in the country people are already rolling in the aisles at this part. But in the South y’all are like ‘yep sounds about right is this guy going to get to the joke or what’” fucking slays me. Every time.
Same here. Wife and I saw a random 15 minute set on a Netflix and then dove into his specials. I think his voice/delivery are amazing
Bargatze just announced a new tour with new material with more dates will being announced in the next week. I strongly recommend checking him out if he comes to your town, was very funny when I saw him a couple weeks ago
