Nice. I’ve been using a rifle/shotty or SMG combo with toxic bullets and freeze turret with grenades. It mows through content pretty quickly. Looking forward to getting hard stuck somewhere and having to optimize.
I have been using the rocket launcher/mini-gun, as it is supposed to interrupt attacks, but I'm not sure it ever actually works. It definitely helps bring down bosses.
I haven’t tried it yet but that’s probably because I dislike change. I haven’t used the healing skill yet either though that feels a lot like endgame group dynamics. I’ve got about 3-4 toxic skill boosts on gear and frankly it melts. My cryo turret and nades are my interrupt. I actually like our melee skill however I just don’t find myself intentionally in close combat often. The melee close quarter nade shatters everything if you have the cd up.
Is this worth just hanging up destiny and AC for a bit? Kind of burned out on both of them and been playing FF7 remake to mix it up but always up for a good looter/shooter
Devastator here. Up to tier 7 in expeditions. The end game grind is fun and a challenge. I will wait to talk about that and crafting until more people get here. So many combinations for builds with mods and skill tree.
I would. If you have game pass and play on console it’s free. If not and you’re on PC, I think you’d still get your money’s worth.
Pyro build : Inferno rounds, overheat and feed the flames. Run an legendary lmg and double gun both with fire rounds, my mods all help extend my clip on my inferno rounds or give me resistances/healing. I've had times when I have run inferno rounds on lmg constantly for about 5 minutes straight before cool down. Got 5 legendary weapons now, one duplicate and one piece of legendary armor
47 hours now, WT 12 rank 30 middle class tree maxed to optimize inferno rounds. Probably about an hour from final mission i would guess all side missions, hunts, and wanteds done
Toxic bullets with some mods just tears through enemies. I didn’t think I’d like the 3 round burst ARs but they’re growing on me after finding a couple of epics.
The bullet mods on Pyro, trickster and techno are pretty broken and you pretty much have to build them into the endgame because of the balancing. Hopefully they fix it
Yeah that final boss battle can eat a dick but the game is beaten. Spoiler i don't mind it split into two parts but having a stretch in between and not counting as a check point is fucking stupid and infuriating especially solo.
Alright Tier 8 now on Expeditions. One gold, one silver(missed gold by 5 seconds), and one bronze Spoiler I really like that they are their own little missions with new enemies, but I really wish the time mechanic wasn't there so I could appreciate the different aspects of the missions instead of rush, rush, rush boss mode.
I hit 21 last night on WT8 and it’s starting to get hard especially the side stuff. I need to optimize gear better or try different skills perhaps if it gets wilder.
I am tier 8 right now as well. Have you been doing them solo or teams? I have teamed up with some ransoms. They are a lot easier that way but I mostly do solo due to time restraints.
I don't melee a lot as a techno so the set bonus is pretty meh but I may try to use it more if I get it. Bloodlust seems pretty good and purity also seems really nice for solo. Is it worth continually upgrading legendaries since this one is not max level? Not sure. I got it from the boss when you enter the forest.
Some Legendaries are more valuable for their Tier 3 Mods. So I would hang on to it for now in Stash until you figure out what you want to do.
Great points all around. When you say more valuable for their Tier 3 mods, you mean by breaking that piece down if/when you decide you want that mod, you can then use it on other mods, correct? Granted I have not spent a TON of time looking into all the specifics of crafting (though I've been doing it for every piece), it appears as though once you deconstruct a piece with a certain mod, you can then apply that mod across any piece of gear you want. Correct? I will probably stash it when I out-level it.
Yeah once you break down a weapon or armor with a certain mod you have access to put it on other equipment. There is a little grid to the right, if it is there that means the mod is already in your inventory.
I am dipping back into the main story area to clear Bounties and Hunts to boost World Tier and get some gear.
The bounties and Hunts were my favorite story points also do Big Iron, Outriders Legacy both guarantee a legendary weapon
Correct if you deconstruct a weapon or item you get all the shards and mods attached to that weapon including ones you've added on upgrade so no junk items or loot in this game it all comes back in the end
I have been deconstructing blues and above and selling greens but I guess it makes sense to sell blues now too if you already have the shard. Correct?
You will need a lot of shards at end game. Its not just the regular shards there are attribute shards that you get when you break them down.
Deconstructing gives you access to that mod, right? No matter the tier level? As long as you don't already have it unlocked? I've been selling half my greens, always destruct blues I don't use. Never know if it's better to save mats for modding, or sell so I can buy new weapons/armor. I have bad luck of buying something, then instantly getting a better drop, so I'd be wise to just save my mats.
I think the game encourages spending. Resources wont be a big issue if you don't go crazy with shards early in end game. Deconstructing gives you unlimited access to the mod.
I did all the hunts and bounties and got my free legos. Got the Inferno Seed. Wrath of Moloch mod is crit hits cause explosion and burn on all enemies in a 5 meter radius. Modded Death Chains on it and just ripped a run and it did really well. Love that this game has so many different build options between mods, sets, skill trees. And I am still on 1 of 4 character types.
game is pretty damn fun. 10 hours gone, up to level 12, world tier 6. got my first purple and it was almost 100 firepower weaker than the blue I had, though.
That first level/boss after hitting a new world tier is always butt clenching. I did a bit more optimizing tonight. That helped some. Only struggled a little with content on the deeper forest/jungle missions. I keep expecting to get more talent points but it feels random when I’m getting them. Most annoying bugs to me are when your tab doesn’t update after fast traveling to end a mission and the lack of compass or mini map with borders or boundaries to help guide you. No real complaints otherwise. Game is super fun. Hit 24 / WT10 tonight. That may be bad but I didn’t play the demo at all.
So apparently there's a chance to upgrade in rarity an item you get from a quest completion? I picked an epic rifle for a contract and the quest reward upgraded to a legendary. Seems similar to WoW where sometimes you get a rarity increase. Didn't know that was possible in this game. This thing looks sweeeet.
Wow 2 in like 5 minutes Feeling pretty lucky however maybe i'm not that lucky considering i'm still not max level
