LOIC In some instances, Watson borrowed a table from the Texans, and some personnel on the team helped refer him to the women, Buzbee said. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/ne...hley-solis-texans-presser-buzbee-16080138.php
Haven't we known for weeks that he flew at least one woman in? Why is it now all of a sudden labeled sex trafficking? I'm not saying he isn't sex trafficking, but just wondering why it wasn't being labeled trafficking weeks ago.
It's not all of a sudden labeled sex trafficking. That media member just put it together that those could eventually be the charges.
Gotcha. Just surprised with all of the chatter that nobody has suggested charging him with that before now.
Has anyone one from beloved to shithead so quickly? Was there any idea that Cosby was such a POS before his fall?
Well, of course. Or if he'd never been born. The point was that the "fall from grace" wasn't a result of what he did; it's a result of his arrogance in thinking he could get away with it.
like me they were probably holding out hope that it wasn’t true but now it just seems like there is too much there, there.
Honestly this somehow still feels like it's being under covered. Like many other people I brushed it off the first week or two because it seemed too convenient.
I can't even remember the last time I watched a non-event on ESPN so I don't know how much its been covered on stuff like that, but it seems like this stuff has gotten maybe 20% or so of the coverage his trade demand and possible next destination coverage was getting 4-6 weeks ago from the stuff I follow on Twitter. This is one of the 2-3 most important stories going on in sports right now, and it doesn't seem like it has been covered that way by the national media that I follow.
And FTR, I get why it isn't being covered more. It's not yet really a criminal investigation and there are a lot of things you probably have to be careful of when you're reporting on it. But the ramifications for this are massive.
The very poorly attempted cover up didn't help either. Add in the bad advice of his agent and he's borderline completely fucked his life up over this.
It would likely be covered more if the attorney was someone different than Buzbee, a massive Trumper and a guy who just comes across as a shady character. But if more women start actually talking...it's about to blow up big time.
Cosby had been doing it for decades, some people knew but it was just the times and the fact that he had such a squeaky clean persona that nothing would ever stick. even Buress talking about it only made a minor splash and nationally almost nothing changed. it wasn't until all the women started coming out that everyone had to face reality. this is the biggest downfall since Vick.
No. There were plenty of rape allegations before Buress made that joke. You don’t see people making too many specific rape jokes unless there’s something there. His joke just went viral and more women started coming forward. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...comedian-reignited-the-bill-cosby-allegations
Have posted this elsewhere, but I heard from a pretty connected NFL guy a little of a year ago that "Deshaun is not the Boy Scout everyone thinks he is and teh Texans do their best to keep it under wraps." I completely disregarded it as BS at the time.
I mean, Bill Cosby settled a civil lawsuit in 2006 where fourteen (14!) woman accused him of sexual assault.
It was framed in a joke, but huh guess he did have some knowledge about the allegations. Guess I read the story wrong! Framed as in he dropped the line in a joke but was serious about the allegations and told everyone to Google it.
The timeline is genuinely mindblowing. Twenty-two + women in a less than a year during a pandemic. Cosby and Weinstein were amateurs by comparison.
You thought Hannibal Burress made a joke about Bill Cosby being a rapist and it was coincidentally true?
I think now that his sponsors are distancing himself, the media will start picking it up more. But I do agree it has been severely under-reported by the media.
i just don't think there's a lot to cover in the media trade speculation is easy to cover because it relates to the draft, free agency, and numerous teams. unless you're thinking the daily updates need to be segments on ESPN or w/e, i'm not sure how much more of the story needs coverage.
