The best in DFW though Celestial is giving them a run for their money. Also a good place to spot both myself and a.tramp (and if you’re very lucky the extremely rare Zack Zedalis ) in the wild
my uncle said if he didn't have to go to the rehearsal dinner he'd be at the $Texas release, after he fed me a ton of cans of theirs he keeps stockpiled so made the trek in rush hour for him really quality stuff
No, their food really is that mediocre - I cringe every time someone comes to town & wants to go there...next time you’re here, go to Los Asaderos on N. Main if you want some good food.
Dallas & the eastern burbs got whacked by tornadoes the day after Christmas in 2015 - that was pretty bizarre driving back into town from visiting family for Christmas, unloading the car, then watching the non-stop weather coverage on the local channels a couple of hours after we got back
I'm not ever seeking out Mexican food when headed north, thanks though Still amazes me a restaurant with such terrible food has a waiting line 7 days a week
Joe T. Garcia’s is by no means the best Tex-Mex you can eat. But it is an institution. And Tex-Mex is by definition not high brow. So if you’re captive audience like Lyrtch was and can’t go there with a good attitude and have a good time getting blitzed, then I’ve got nothing for you.
I'm coming to grapevine with my wife and kid next week for an awards thing at Greatwolf. Was looking for some ideas to do. We fly in at 9 but can't check into the lodge until 1. Was thinking about taking my son to Legoland or the aquarium in the morning. Do yall have any recommendations for the best kid friendly activities?
dfw is close to the lodge, but it’s worth going to a different area if you have time to kill check out the perot museum in dallas. the aquarium isn’t but a few blocks away from that too
Legoland can eat up hours pretty easily, especially if the kid is already into legos Isnt there a little aquarium in the same mall as legoland? If he gets bored with lego too soon you could just go there
There is a place in Frisco called Kidzania; it’s a bit of a drive from Grapevine, and pricy but my nieces love that place.
fyi one of my favorite BBQ places in the DFW area is a mile or two from Great Wolf http://www.meatuanywhere.com/
I might be coming down for a few days during spring break with my wife and our 5 and 2 year old. I saw several children’s museums are available to choose from, along with the aquarium and zoo. Any of y’all with little kids have a preference of one place over another?
Get the brisket meat n bun with the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese as the side. Even if you don’t eat the bun you get a lot of brisket for a better price than if you just buy it by weight. I always ask for extra bark because the rub Andy uses on his brisket is fantastic. Their pinto beans are an excellent side as well.
I only go on weekdays at lunch and it’s pretty limited but they have free valet parking; I assume they have the same other times
so I'm seeing lots of content on social from Free Man Cajun Cafe and I'm dying for some intel. Namely, WTF? Shit just back to normal at this point?
my intel is that the hot chick is the best chicken with Cajun gravy over rice you’ll ever eat in your damn life The free man
Not sure where to put this, but for all of my dfw brothers and sisters who are interested in getting a covid vaccine, here is something you can try: Sign up to be a denton county volunteer with this link. It took mine 2 weeks to process before I could sign up for a session. This just gets you in the system and doesn't obligate you to volunteer, so I'd just go through the process if you think you may be interested. Sign up for a 7 hour volunteer session at the texas motor speedway. I was done in 6. Leftover doses are given to volunteers. It isn't guaranteed, but I either personally know or know of at least 10 people who have volunteered on different days. All have gotten a shot on the first try. Once you get one, you don't need to volunteer again for the 2nd dose. You're on the list. Spoiler a.tramp THF Dump BayouMafia can't remember any others
Any of my dfw brothers have a cpa they'd recommend? I've previously used user ned's head, and he stinks
https://communityimpact.com/dallas-...ased-pop-parlour-to-bring-ice-pops-to-frisco/ Mix this you right? Stoked to try it.
Indeed it is. Had a lot of issues with inspections but moving along and should open in the next 3-4 weeks.
Holy shit I'm fucking depressed looking at the 10-day forecast. Weather.com shows one day without thunderstorms and/or rain between Sunday and the 27th -- and the downpour doesn't necessarily stop there, that's just the end of the forecast. Here in Aledo it's either been raining or windy AF for all but about three days since March 1. Give me 105 degrees on the daily over this shit.
