At the dish, I agree. But at least Baddoo can play a few positions and run the bases. There is utility there when he inevitably slows down.
Meant more in the running hype sense. I'm much more hopeful that Baddoo has a better skill set to stick around than Shelton did
Akil Baddoo signed rookie card is selling for $175 today. For comparison you can buy a Dingler one for $20, Skubal for $60 and Mize for $90. People are crazy with the hype train
Trout currently hitting .368 with a 1.292 ops Baddoo .500 with a 1.750 ops So I think you're shooting a little low
I'd like to see Baddoo play some CF. I haven't really seen him make any throws, but all the prospect people said his arm is well below average so he might be stuck in LF. The bar to play every day offensively (at least on a team that isn't us) is significantly lower in CF if you're decent at it.
We can’t give Avila too much credit for Baddoo. He probably just drafted the highest ranked kid coming into the draft per mlb pipeline. I think Baddoo was ranked like 75th or so pre draft.
Shelton 2.0 to me in that he will not be as good as he has shown in ST and early season. Guy hasn't played in over a year and not past high a. Teams don't have a good scouting report on him. Pitchers and teams will figure him out and he'll have to adjust. The difference to me though is like you said he can do other things that can make him a serviceable player. But I'd be surprised if he turns into a star. Hope I'm wrong
This should pretty much be the lineup for the year. Just flip Cabrera and Candelario and let Jones and Reyes platoon. No reason for anyone else on the roster to get regular at bats.
I mean Trout’s contract is a risk but his track record probably makes me OK a trade for Baddoo if I’m Avila.
Not watching. Did the coach send Miggy there, or did he go on his own? Because he does stupid stuff like that on his own all the time.
Boyd just went back-to-back starts without allowing a HR for the first time since May 23/28 of 2019. Since then, he had allowed at least one HR in 24 of 32 starts.
Remaining .500 without the best pitching coach in baseball is a fantastic feat. Now comes the beatdown on the AL.
