Honestly I’m hoping the pentagon budget increase is because Biden has been in politics long enough to know that the budget rules are made up and the numbers don’t matter. Just increase spending everywhere so that conservatives can’t be mad about cutting defense spending while he also raises budgets for various social services.
I get that but it’s too high from the get go, so adjusting for inflation is still adjusting too high a number.
Hopefully the increase to the defense budget is for discretionary spending which the GOP and the Supreme Court have already determined that the president can use those funds for other projects and Biden uses those funds to deal with climate change.
