Went to my Bucs season ticket seats after the women's tag match to see the view. No one was there and the zip ties were cut, so these are my seats now. Got in for $50.
Looked like Ripley was going for a whole lot more feats strength spots but they just didn’t pay off. Just didn’t have the endurance for it? Not sure but seemed off.
I thought for sure Becky was gonna come out for the pop and to eye down Rhea with the title she never lost
Rhea looked so good against IO Shirai I expected so much more. Still like her I hope she has a better reign that Asuka did. Sasha, IO and Asuka got the WWE through the hard times now they bring in the muscle girls for all three championship. Kinda sad I love all three of those girls.
Peacock needs to stop with this going silent over cursing. we’re all big boys and this is a ducking PPV
Also what a shit ending. That edge double spear sequence was great and would have been a worthy ending. Having interference in the WM main event is just stupid.
Night One Booking - Welcome back fans! Here is your feel good moment. Night Two Booking - Fuck you fans! Roman wins. Spoiler I'm fine with Roman winning in a vacuum, but the whole night was a downer and hate the interference deciding the main event.
Night one was this Night two was classic "Never give the fans too much of what they want" Mania used to be the exception to that rule
I gave WWE a chance for the first time in probably a good decade, if not longer, and that shit was a complete waste of my time.
2 nights is still a good format. Even if you cut a couple of the less than important matches, there's still enough for a show that would be too long to do in one night. The problem with night two was not that it was "night two," it was that the matches were rushed and the heels won almost every contest.
How about don't put every one on the roster on the shows. Build up the week too and have a Mania raw and a Mania smackdown and have two big episodes leading up to Mania which is just the big matches. Also worried the move to two nights would be ok if they were two short nights but worried it turns into two drawn out nights. Problem with no more ppv is they have no time crunch and can just drag shit on The fact that Tamina and Natalya were on Mania, let alone two nights is a joke.
If night 1 and 2 were switched I think people would have been happier. Night 1 was just a lot better that night 2 looked bad in comparison
Night two just locked me into only having a one night event. I think you had 14 matches between the two nights. I think you could've knocked 6 matches off a one night card. 8 matches in one night including the pre-show is the sweet spot. 4 hour show and go home.
Night 2 was a bit of a let down after night 1. The main event was great, but the rest of the show was fairly weak.
Weird coming out of Mania with every single men's belt won by the heel, the women's tag belt won by the heel and both women's matches were face v face. No heel lost in a title match at Mania
Agreed. It was everything a Mania match should be. High on spectacle, crowd investment, drama, workrate, and finish.
I don't have a problem with two nights at all. It was fun to wake up Sunday morning wanting more. The problem with everything was the lack of build, and lack of hot stars. I've been binging old Manias with my son, and the main programs generally had fantastic long term storytelling. Lashley/McIntyre was built in a month, and neither are hot enough to be in a world championship match at Mania. You could argue McIntyre, but I think it just seems that way because nobody on Raw is must see. Rhipley/Asuka was built in what, two weeks? Riddle/Sheamus was built over a few weeks. Owens/Zayn was built in the past few weeks. The women's turmoil match was shit. The Alexa thing was god awful. And not only because there was no conclusion, but she's constantly posting pictures on IG of her and Cabrera. If you're in such a deep twisted storyline, maybe take a few months off of posting. When she's a demon that night, and the next morning she's posting videos of her boyfriend waking her up playing a guitar, there's just no ability for the fan to buy into the storyline. The only match that has had universal praise for it's buildup, emotion, and the in ring work that I've seen is Bianca/Sasha. It's not difficult to do that. Pay attention to the crowd you had last night. KO is over as fuck. Put the briefcase on him and watch him work wonders with it. And then the pop when he eventually cashes it in should rival Ziggler/Del Rio. Edge is over as fuck, move him to Raw and let him take the title from Lashley. Raw needs babyface contenders, Smackdown has plenty of guys. Big E, Cesaro, DB can all work programs with Reigns through the rest of the year. KO with the briefcase with two heel champions means you can put him on both shows and push him to the moon. There's just zero continuity on either show outside of a select few guys. Roman's character is great. Figure out what the hell you want to do with Rollins because you've wasted him for the past year. I think both shows have huge problems, and the past two nights exposed how bad those problems are. Maybe have the draft soon and hit a restart button? I'm not sure, but it's as stale as it's ever been. We should be gushing over the aura of Mania with crowds back right now, but here we are. Edit: Just looked on IG and Bliss just posted a picture from last night, thanking her boyfriend for the doodles he made on her outfit. I mean, come on. Too bad we didn't have IG back in the day, maybe Warrior would've thanked his wife for picking out the color of food coloring for his vomit when Papa Shango put a spell on him.
You're not getting only eight matches on a one-night card, though, so what you're suggesting is a fantasy world. You're either getting 12+ matches + a preshow on one night, or you're spreading it out over two nights. There were 16 matches (12 on main show, four on preshow) the last one-night WM in 2019. You're not getting an eight-match WM ever again.
