I find this odd. This is like saying you can't be a Bond villain and have an IG of you smiling. I know wrestling gimmicks go further but in reality...it's the show and you can do plenty of storytelling without worrying about what your social media account says. Most fans aren't going that deep with this stuff and expecting social media to be always on.
Me being horny and wanting to see your ass online is ruining my ability to believe you are an actual demon with powers
That's kind of nitpicking what I'm saying. Maybe I've been watching wrestling too long and still want some semblance of kayfabe. Far out there characters work better when the talent actually work to protect the gimmick. I can't imagine the Undertaker gimmick holding up so well for 30 years if he was doing public appearances with Austin the day after he crucified him. Or if Orton/Wyatt were doing appearances together during Mania season talking about how much fun it was to pretend burn each other. Why do the gimmick at all if you're not trying to protect it at least a little bit?
They need to stop the fiend in his box-like structure gimmick already. What a pile of shit it has been. And to bring back the red light match again even though people clearly hated it. Talk about some spite booking.
I get it. I just think characters are so different now. For example other than The Fiend is there another character who doesn't go by a real-sounding name? Back then you had The Undertaker, The Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Hulk Hogan (kinda both sides there), The Iron Sheik, Doink the Clown, Big Boss Man, Sting and however many other comic-book sounding characters. Now it's all about "real people" who wrestle. So it just works differently. I do think the comic book stuff could work but you'd need to build around that almost separately and commit that person to it for their career. Alexa is just going through a phase and we know it's not long term.
It blows my mind that WrestleMania 23---the first to go back to stadiums full time and during a time when there were three brands---only had 8 matches on the card, two of which were five minutes or less.
People keep saying this about Bray lately and in the past I've agreed, but I think he's basically booking himself at this point from what I've read. So I think a lot of this stuff is from him
I’m sorry I’m not gonna do that. I’m gonna enjoy this while we can. Who will come after Rhea first? Can’t be demon Alexa.
Asuka and Rhea fight again tonight for the belt. God I hate wwe. So stupid. Let my poor girl rest. She’s 40 with broken teeth. Find another person to job.
Probably giving Asuka a break so it's not uncommon for her to put her over the night after Mania. Don't see a problem with it...I'd guess match ends with Rhea next challenger coming out
WWE has drastically changed its PPV booking during covid. Maybe its a dream but it could be possible if they went away from peak over booking that was the 2019 WM
She's like the girl from Seinfeld, in some lighting she looks hot, others you could convince me she was born a man
I'm confused why Orton keeps cutting promos about how Alexa and Bray are gone now so he doesn't have to worry anymore when Alexa has already been on the show and they advertised Bray to be on next
Why in the world do I keep watching this?? I mean, I hated day two of WM, why did I think RAW would be any better??
Are New Day the greatest tag team of all time? They have the longest reign, have to be close to the most times champion, huge merch movers, big E now winning individual titles, Xavier is hosting a tv show and has a hugely successful YouTube channel. Their in ring work is amazing. They are allowed to carry 7-10 minute segments on the mic regularly. I can’t think of anyone that has done more
I think they are probably the greatest tag team of their generation. I would think the Road Warriors are probably the greatest ever based on the financial metric. They had a long run, and made tons of cash for every company they worked for.
I think it's a safe argument, for sure. It'd be easy to pick a team from a more popular era, like the Hardy Boyz or Dudley Boys, or a classic team like the British Bulldogs or Road Warriors, but New Day are definitely the tops of the past twenty years. I'd say it's either them or Road Warriors for greatest of all time.
that’s what I was thinking, they are penalized only because of their era which isn’t their fault. I’d say they are actually being entertaining in an era where they are much more constrained by what’s allowed than say the Dudley’s were.
SO im getting around to watching night 1 (before my free trial expires) and I can't understate how great Bad Bunny was and then...more importantly...how great The Miz/Morrison was in making him look so good. I'm trying to think of a better "special guest" match as far as actual wrestling. I mean maybe Rhonda in his first ever match with Steph and HHH before she was more established? Green Arrow? I'm sure im forgetting things. Even something as simple as BB breaking up a pin attempt was done like a damn pro.
Also that women's tag match stuff set women's wrestling back a good couple of decades. Might as well have thrown in an evening gown stipulation. Thankfully the main event made up for it and brought it all right back to the modern era.
