I find this interesting bc of how Rosen got killed for this same sentiment. However, it’s also possible the feedback from coaches and habits of both players impact NFL gms perception vs how the narrative is covered. Also, Lawrence’s body of work and physical skills are undeniable.
No one knows for sure what the actual NFL decision makers think unless they flat out say it publicly. Fields is going top 3 for sure. Which is exactly what he would’ve if no one spoke his name since February. So pretty sure the league just like 99 percent of fans understand it’s bullshit and all just part of the pre-draft ratings war.
If support from the media is irrelevant, so are the critiques. And Fields "slipping" down the board and the reaction to it started before Orlovsky's comments. Orlovsky's comments were literally in response to why Fields might not go as high as people think, if I'm not mistaken.
A lot of the support likely is, too. That's how this stuff works. Whatever. I don't know why I keep doing this. I'm not against Fields at all and would take him 2nd in this draft. I think he's going to be awesome. I just think it's dumb when people pretend like Jones or others don't have anyone pointing out their flaws, or that if SF takes Jones at 3 that somehow means everyone would have taken him ahead of Fields.
My school is currently playing all the sports at one time because why not? All I have time for is Justin Fields arguments where I only disagree with half of someone's take and Akil Baddoo highlights. Please respect my decision. I won't be taking calls.
As a WFT Fan, if the draft played out like that I'd be pretty disappointed that we traded up 5 spots for a QB when we could have traded back 5 and still got Fields. Maybe it'll happen, I'd love to get Fields/Lance in the teens but I doubt that happens.
I'm curious if the Haskins/OSU connection affects how Washington views Fields at all. I really doubt we ever have find out, but I'd be curious to see them in that situation.
That's a good point, idk really. I'm not sure I've heard many or any rumors out of DC regarding QBs. I'd hope they don't have a bias, but it is certainly possible
You would think not considering they are totally different prospects in both style and pedigree but we're talking about a team that's seemingly content to go by "Football Team" forever so who knows.
It’d be a real shame if he fell to 24, it’d be hard for the Steelers to deal with that kind of reclamation project.... Spoiler Please, dear God, fall to 24 and kick Ben’s bum ass out of town
Looks accurate to me. I’ve always felt that Charley Casserly understands the NFL like no other. He clearly knows what he’s talking about.
We are all posting in Casserly’s troll thread A list of teams he has passing on Fields. Consider their QB situations Detroit Carolina Denver Washington New England Las Vegas Chicago Indianapolis Tennessee
Fields makes it anywhere close to the end of the top-10 and a half dozen teams will be on the phones like crazy trading up.
I tend to agree but I don't want him to go to the Jets. SF seems like a perfect situation for him and it also ensures he's far away from the AFCE.
