This is what CNN chooses to show on their front page, not a still of him with his hands up? Fuck right off, CNN
Whatever gets them views. Thats why party politics is a joke. Much like cops, all Presidents are bastards.
They would've done nothing either way. Nothing ever fucking changes. Child execution at the hands of state agents especially black children is A-ok with our so called leaders. These people don't fucking care and they never will. The only way to change things is for communities to band together, arm up and keep cops out of their areas.
Progressives have been banging the drum hard that CNN is a right wing network for 4 years now. Just because Fox News is far right doesn't make CNN left or center left by any stretch of the imagination. They will always protect capital and protect the people the people who protect capital
Yeah, which is why I put liberal in quotes. They were pretty hard line protecting the police. Usually not that heavy handed
This shit sucks. This country sucks. It’s just so depressing that we are in this never ending cycle and we continue to do nothing about it as a country.
Before Rodney King, folks were screaming about this happening and we’re told to just follow the laws and you won’t deal with police. Then King happened and the talk was well he was breaking the law. Then cell phones happened and we never saw the whole story. Any police budget, which is way too much that doesn’t include body cameras with 24/7 storage and tracking, should be cut. This is needed for peoples protection against this stupid ass street gang with unlimited power.
If the people are brown. If they are white and beating you with a hammer they are still taken into custody. This country sucks so much ass it can’t be put into words. Defund the police, abolish their unions, rescind qualified immunity and start over. If the phrase defund offends or scares you, stay in your crime free, white ass suburbs.
The problem is the way he tossed the gun made it where the officer couldn't see that he had tossed it.
Officer should’ve specified there’s a very specific way he needed to drop the gun in order to not get shot
The real tragedy is it happened so fast the kid actually dropped it before the officer even said to drop it.
There is a screenshot on the internet I don't want to post for obvious reasons, but based on the timestamp there was less than a second from the gun being in his right hand until the officer fires the shot.
So you're saying at one point Simon & Schuster did plan to publish the memoir of one of Breonna Taylor's murders?
Same guy who did an interview on January 6 in which he justified the actions of the insurrectionists against Capitol Police. Chicago Police Union always has completely awful leadership; they do shady shit to keep power in the hands of White 2nd and 3rd generation cops.
great publishing company you have there folks. Why in the world green light this in the first place? And now pulling back because of public pressure? Did you not expect any? Maybe put some intelligent and diverse individuals in your decision-making roles. fuck
I think I’ve told this story before but Im friends w a guy who grew up in Back of the Yards. He got grants to go to college. Majored in criminal justice and wanted to become a cop to help his community. He washed out in 3 years Said it was impossible to keep a clean conscience without receiving heaps of shit from other cops. Treated him as naive and dumb. Ect.
If you shoot heroes, such as police union leaders, does the transitive property make you a super hero? Asking for a friend.
A family member of mine by marriage is a 25-year vet of CPD. He has talked for years about how bad it is. He’s switched partners/units repeatedly to get away from the worst of the worst, and sought out what’s considered a “shit” assignment he’s had for the past ~15 years to get off the street. He got called every morning in June to go in and work protests. He refused everytime and said he’s not going go out and “beat on kids that look like my son.” If he had any less seniority he’d be in a world of shit with his fellow officers. As it is they make little shitty comments to him but don’t fuck with him about it. Just a really fucking awful culture.
People always talk about term limits for politicians. There should definitely be term limits for cops. I'm sure it's easy to get disillusioned on the job and when you allow that mentality to fester it just ruins it for all the new people as well.
Hero cop murders unarmed 13 year old with his hands up. Come on CNN, you fucking cunts, post that headline.
They are a solid #3 on my police union guillotine list 1. NYC 2. Minneapolis 3. Chicago 4. Portland 5. Los Angeles
