It’s always seemed like a no brainer. Not only does it keep guys fresh but then the company would get to hype up returns or make surprise returns every year for the big names
The first time Vince yells at him will be legendary. Dude almost walked out on Mania because Cole told him to change his shorts into pants
I haven't watched wrestling in probably 5 years. About 3 months ago WWE started showing up all over my Facebook news feed and has ever since. I know next to nothing about her but I may be in love with Rhea Ripley.
This guy is a great follow because he just posts a bunch of early TNA shit. I vaguely remember watching during those days and it was always a trip.
Great thread. Some future stars(Foley, Edge, Gangrel, Kane) in there. There’s no better name for a generic jobber than Jeff Sword, IMO
Love that Mace was unmasked last night and the guys that did commentary with him for months acted like they had no idea who he is. Good stuff.
Raw needs a shakeup in the worst way. I actually enjoy Smackdown, but maybe because it's not such a chore to get through. I'll usually start Raw around 845, fast forward through a bunch of it, fall asleep by 10, and fast forward through the rest of it if I wake up during the night or the next day. The best way to actually digest Raw is to listen to a podcast shitting all over it, whether it's John and Wai, or Agnew and Andrada on SNME.
I started it at 9 last night and was already exhausted by it by 1000 and that was fast forwarding more of it than I watched. That is a bad show. No way around it.
Was cool all the LAW guys did the reunion to preview WM. Hopefully time is healing those wounds and we can get more collaborations.
I text back and forth with Agnew, speak on the phone every once in a while. I straight up asked him about the situation a while back and he gave it to me straight. I won't get into the details, but I was surprised he did the WM roundtable. Moving forward though, I don't see more collaborations happening. If you watched the video, his body language was telling. Mouth is cool with John and Wai, but that's because he's an old hippie who doesn't give a shit about anything. I could see serious tension still between John and Jason specifically. I think Jason did this as a favor to Mouth.
What do you do to fix it? An invasion angle? Rebrand it as Nitro and bring back their old WCW stuff, like their PPV names? I'm not really putting much thought into this, but whatever they do needs to be drastic and given time to grow.
1st thing is cut it back to 2 hours. Nobody wants to watch a PPV much past three hours so they definitely aren't going to watch a weekly episodic wrestling show every week for three hours. You fire all the writers in the back that doesn't have any past wrestling experience. Quit scripting promos for everyone. The best promos in WWE for a long time were the ones off the cuff during the rain delay at WM. Stop hotshotting your top title. Stop the hot and cold with Drew. Stop letting birds fly out of Riddle's taint. Stop having train sound effects for Braun. No more 50/50 booking. Don't have the same match on three weeks in a row. Take the US title off of Sheamus ASAP - he has worse than X-Pac heat. Show is way overproduced and it feels sterile. There is nothing intimate about the WWE product at all now. Scrap the Thunderdome concept because it is an eyesore and bring back a few fans in to the arena. A thousand people spread out will still look better than that thing. Do away with the constant camera cuts and shaking. Kill Nia Jax.
JR mentioned that AEW would hit the road again in July. MLW announced tonight its running a live taping in Philly in July.
I never really noticed that Darby isn’t just wearing black pants but black leggings and like black daisy dukes
Several people were saying there was a good 200-300k that would move over as soon as NXT changed nights. That happened basically on the money.
It was their their head of talent relations that got the boot. I imagine it was an easy way to shed a six figure salary.
I have a love hate relationship with Punk. He rekindled my love for wrestling with his ROH run, but he turned into bitter wrestling guy and it was just annoying. He’s rallied recently though.
I also feel confident Punk is going to return for a few years, doing the Moxley deal with AEW where he can work elsewhere when he so chooses. I just think he won’t be a weekly guy like Mox.
The Austin doc that was on A&E was pretty good, watched it last night. Wish it was more than one episode.
He’s been way more active on social media answering questions about who he likes and who he wants to work. He’s definitely not ignorant to today’s product. He didn’t even dismiss the idea of working Ospreay who recently said he wants to work Punk.
I never put it together that I got to see Austin’s last match at WM19. I mean it’s not like he went anywhere, pretty sure they made him the GM of raw like a month later Also Chilly McFreeze was definitely a Vince name
Getting into lucha was the best decision of my wrestling fandom. Abismo Negro was wild as fuck, but it also isn’t a shock he was probably dealing with CTE when he died.
