man meadows was going crazy low coming off a fucky 2020. feels like he could win ppl some leagues if he fell enough in your draft and stays healthy
joined a random 12 teamer yahoo public league. typically go hitter heavy but wanted to play around with pitching. stacked this staff and still put together a respectable offense imo
That’s a more than respectable offense. Wish I would have prepared a bit more but I’d argue you could put together a hell of an offense 10th round and on. Pitching is just a cliff.
there’s a handful that could break out but yea it’s largely butt and drops off fast. in most leagues you could fill a halfway decent lineup of waiver guys
drop aaron hicks for badoo? ten teamer, 5 OF have kelenic waiting in the wings- he’d be my 5th as soon as he’s up. like the upside of badoo and hicks is boring af. like the lineup context for hicks tho
Is it safe for me to drop Eloy Jimenez and open up a spot on my IL. I have two IL spots with Soroka in one and then have Lamet and now Austin Hays IL eligible.
I think so. He’s out sixish months, best case scenario is that you get him for the last month or month and a half, and I doubt he comes back this year as the hitter he was after all that time.
Is this the safe space for people who own Castillo and Corbin to hang out and not get hurt anymore? Because what the hell? If this is what Corbin has going right now they should have let him recover from COVID or whatever the deal was a bit longer instead of ruining my ERA.
Everything I read or heard on Corbin is that he was trending in this direction. I still don’t completely understand why. Castillo just doesn’t make any sense at all.
I had nobody going and my opponent had 6 guys but 2 rained out. This is probably the best scenario and I was up 20 something strikeouts:
I’ve got Bieber and Glasnow left plus Mize. May need to stream some. My hitting sucks ass cause of injuries, Covid and Mets ppd.
I’d highly recommend flipping Glasnow for pitching depth right now if you can. I know I said that earlier but the Rays will ruin his value here in short order.
Post your staff again. I’d try to pry away two solid SP off a team who is deep. Or a solid SP with adequate RP.
Just got offered this trade: I would get Euginio Suarez and Steven Matz for Ozuna and Donaldson. Ozuna has been ice cold, but Donaldson has been solid for me. My current SS is Baez. I dont hate it but I dont love it. I currently have Woodruff, Mahle, Rogers (MIA), Flaherty so Im not dying for another SP....but my closers are pretty bad so I dont hate the idea of just trying to load up on QS (no wins in this league) and Ks. My other OF: Edman, Pham, Nimmo, Conforto, Kyle Lewis, Haniger. Thoughts? This is only my 2nd year doing fantasy and still am not sure what Im doing.
Does anyone think Tejay Antone gets a shot to be the closer for cincy? Garrett for sure shouldn’t be the closer, but the reds still might like Antone eating innings as a bridge (to Doolittle I guess?). I think he’s useful even if he’s not the closer because k/9 is one of the categories in the league I’m in, but I’d rather him be getting saves if i picked him up. I had merryweather as my third closer but it’s looking like he’s out for the foreseeable future.
i wouldn’t. ozuna will come around. donaldson is an asset when healthy too. i don’t think the disparity between Suarez and Baez is wide enough to warrant trading Ozuna by himself, much less adding Donaldson Matz has been great this year... but there’s a track record of him being not great. I’d want a more in return.
Yeah I looked at some numbers on fangraphs and decided to decline it. Donaldson has been a rare bright spot for my offense since everyone else seems to be slumping.
No, he will at least get a shot in the rotation. My guess is that they are just buying innings for his arm right now.
Sounds about right. I wouldn’t mind that either, he deserves more innings. Who do you think is the closer then? Will they stay with Garrett, or switch to Doolittle or Sims maybe?
Yeah generally stay away for the moment. Probably going to come down to injury if I had to guess. But yeah, a young guy with an arm like that needs to get a chance to start. Would be a complete waste to keep him in the pen.
antone can help you w ratios and even pitch in a decent amount of Ks if he gets a couple appearances every week
is victor robles worth hanging onto at this point in 5OF leagues? Could really use that roster spot. I’ve got: Harper Castellanos Kyle Tucker Biggio (using at 2b while jazz is out) Mullins Kiriloff Kelenic
10-team keeper league. I started with the following... Acuna Soto Bregman Bieber Buehler Pretty good. These were my first 13 picks in the draft... George Springer Luis Castillo Max Muncy Keston Hiura Carlos Correa Lance McCullers Ke'Bryan Hayes Alex Verdugo Patrick Corbin Tommy Pham Devin Williams James Paxton Joc Pederson Fucking yikes. this is by far the worst team I've ever had.
I, for one, am the proud owner of: Clay Bellinger George Springer Bryce Harper Giancarlo Stanton all on the IL. Not to mention Manny Machado who has been missing games lately but not put on IL. I also have Syndergaard and Sale stashed on my IL. Here's to hoping that my team is VERY good come the All Star Break.
I’m getting murdered with IL as well. In both my leagues I have over five guys in each and they are not the same dudes.
Man I thought my pitching was my weak spot after the draft, but it’s carrying me. I’ll probably be tied for second or third after tonight.
In a league where a max move was put into place to prevent streaming SP. I am okay with that in concept but I haven’t been able to finish a week with a full team of bats yet.
I feel like it’s pretty safe at this point to drop Stanton, right? He’s done very fucking little most of the time minus a couple hot streaks. I’ve got Eloy Jimenez on the IL still that I need to move off. Deciding if I should just drop Eloy, drop Stanton, or move someone else.
I just picked him up in the last week in my keeper league. So yeah, well worth the drop. Just picked him up on the whim that he does anything and is a keeper consideration. But yeah, it's getting a little late in the year to heat up.
Any of these trade moves help anyone for the Cubs or Nats? Was thinking about Josiah Gray if he gets playing time
