Isn't the "normal human being" issue with the shield more that he can throw it that hard to make it move like that, as opposed to whether he can catch it with his bare hands or not? Why would the super soldier serum make your hands better able to catch something that all evidence suggests should saw your fingers off if you tried to catch it when it was moving like that?
serum enhances everything, strength, endurance, reflexes, metabolism etc. Remember in Cap 1 Steve said he can't even get drunk.
I’m not trying to be a dick, but does stuff like this really matter or take you out of the moment while watching this?
It crosses my mind but certainly doesn’t ruin the show. It’s just post-watching fan banter. I like the idea of further distancing Sam from Steve/the serum by emphasizing his human-ness. Also, any excuse for more wakanda tech is a plus.
So was the gift from the wakanda crew to Sam a captain America suit made out of the same tech as the black panther suit?
Thats my guess with the holographic wings that T’Challa made him in the comics. Wouldn’t bet against an insane vibranium RedWing either.
Love the show but Bucky should wipe the floor with Carl Fredricksen CA. No way him and Sam should've struggled like they did.
Sam's a regular, Bucky forgets to use his arm sometimes and neither wanted to kill. Discount Cap (who was already highly trained) was super-juiced, amped on adrenalin, and going for the head. He still ended up losing but I can see why it took a bit to take him down.
Bucky was the Winter Soldier. Dude is a legendary weapon. I can look past it but I ain't gotta like it.
I think it should be established that Bucky and the Winter Soldier are two vastly different personalities that fight differently. Zemo even kinda pointed that out at one point. Telling Bucky he needs to get back in touch with the way he fought as winter soldier mentally
True. Still has like a century of fighting experience with the serum, spent time in Wakanda with the Dora, and has a Vibranium arm. Really hard to believe a Seal that's had the serum a day or two can hang with him alone. Add in that it was 2 on 1 and it seems silly.
The more I've thought about it, the more I've leaned into this line of thinking. I think WS would have absolutely murked #NotMyCap but Bucky doesn't fight with the same mentality.
I think rule #2 certainly comes into play, but the one thing nobody has mentioned is the fact that one super soldier serum was invented 80+ years ago and the other is brand new. Perhaps the newer one has more potency and is more refined?
Yes, there wouldn't be much point if you can just declare Bucky the winner because we know he is better.
It's worth noting that even Steve and Bucky's versions weren't the same, correct? Hydra stole it after Steve took it but there's plenty of reason to believe they modified it.
Plus he had a vibranium shield. Last thing they wanted was to accidently lose a finger. Shit especially Bucky when he's already down to 5.
You ever fight with a jetpack on? It's not easy firing it up and shutting it down while flying around trying not to get your ass handed to you by little orphan Annie on steroids and juiced up dude with a murder shield. I mean it's not bad for what it is. It's no John Wick though.
Bucky did take what Zemo said into consideration. See the way he was playing with the scraper while they were fixing up the boat?
I think a Sharon heel turn is ineffective. She's a bad guy of little consequence in the long run. Better chance she's working undercover to find the power broker imo. We've already seen her hide in plain sight from Cap at Fury's directive; zero reason to think she wouldn't do it again or would go rogue.
Makes sense. He's an arms dealer, and post-blip would thrive I'm sure. Plus the series Armor Wars is coming out and he makes sense for that..and would be a cool series for Cheadle and Rockwell to duke it out but also introduce Ironheart Plus, most of the actors who play villains have a comedic sensibility.. and Rockwell is amazing.
Speaking of Cheadle. In the first episode he made a point of telling Sam that he would see him again soon. Well, we haven't seen him since. Wonder if he reappears in the finale.
It kinda does to me. Cap/Steve was adored. Most of that was due to his personality and moral compass, but some of it was due to the fact he had the serum. Insert Sam who is an amazing character all on his own but he's still just a regular dude. Highly trained and well above average, to be sure, but in no way enhanced. So seeing him handle the shield near the end there kinda takes some of the mystique of Steve away. Edit:
I think the Power broker is the Mandarin or someone working for him. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we got the first Shang-Chi trailer the week of the FaWS finale.
He did say he'd come back and would be easy for him to be a hologram and continue collecting marvel paychecks lol
Freshly activated Winter Solider by Zemo in Civil War went toe to toe and even had a slight edge on fucking T'Challa. That's not a mindset you can just easily tap into w/o losing yourself in.
Oh shit. Watching TWS-CW-Ep 5 to prepare for the finale. The clip of Buck and the motorcycle in the preview is the same move Cap used to take down the Quinjet in TWS.
Woah, Bucky practicing his knife skills with the paint scraper last episode mirrors the same exact moves he used vs Cap during the street fight in TWS.
yeah it's p obvious that this WS isn't nearly as potent a fighter/killer as the psycho murderer WS. i mean his breakout from prison in CW was fucking intense and he went toe-to-toe with like 5 diff avengers and wrecked each one, except BP
Dude fucking took out an entire fleet of Quinjets without breaking a sweat. Also, killed liked 20 shield personnel in the process. Also, kicked a lowly mechanic into a spinning propeller.
Especially with Zemo's dialogue with him, it definitely seems like Bucky is holding back in fear he will revert to his WS programming. Which makes sense.
