Stop telling people about Aliante or Red Rock. They don't exist. That's not the hotel you're looking for.

JW out in Summerlin is a really nice property. It’s great if you are going and trying to spend a day out at Red Rocks and having a relaxing golf weekend.

I would go Flamingo for International tourists , especially first time visitors to Vegas.

I’ll cape for Aliante (and just a bit less for Red Rock) all day. Red Rock is adjacent to the hockey facility and new ballpark, as well as your usual golf and outdoor recreation.

After reading the last few pages, I am still undecided on where to stay and need help. We are planning on going to EDC Vegas in May and I want to book 5 nights at an MGM property.

My first choice was the Aria but are there better options ( Mandalay, Bellagio, Signature at MGM Grand)? What are we thinking will be open by EDC weekend?

Idk if any of those listed are better than Aria.

    I do like the Mirage.

Going to EDC, your method of transportation would matter too I would think.

We hope to go, I am on the VIP ticket waitlist and therefore have not booked the shuttles just yet. Flights are booked on points and will book an MGM property using Hyatt points and minimal cash.

Buying shuttle tickets on secondary and we are going to have to hike it a long way so I wanted to stay mid-strip to make that easier.

Have they said when hot tubs, spas, buffets will re-open? The Aria buffet was amazing when I last went a few years ago.

given you’re flying in for concerts I’m going to make two leaps about you, which answering no will change my answer. 1) you’re young 2) looking to party.

Of that list I’d go aria. Mandalay sucks given it’s location. Mandalay Bay Beach is cool though. If I’m going purely MGM for young, concert goers.

    1) MGM grand - pool and overall size
    2) Aria - younger and the location
    3) Mirage - pool and OK location
    4) Bellagio - nicest, great location; crowd could get a little old
    5) Mandalay Bay - great value price but basically need transportation

Don’t even bother on Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY.

Personally I think CET properties are better suited for young crowd. Flamingo, Planet Hollywood, Linq, and Caesars is a heavier lineup.

No to both. 34 and prefer luxury over pool party crowd.

I feel like we will be sleeping all day anyways and would rather stay at a quieter place. Monday during the day and night will be our only relaxation and recovery day.

Aria was my first choice but I’ve stayed there before and don’t know what the Bellagio is like. Aria and Bellagio will cost the same amount of points+cash.

Given the EDC location (Speedway) none of the MGM Strip properties are better situated than the others. Both Aria and Bellagio offer luxury. You can’t go wrong with either. Aria is quieter, has a less crowded casino, and the rooms are newer. You might want to check out Vdara too.

I know that some of their top acts were uncomfortable with May and wanted it pushed back. Their Covid Safety Plan was under review by health officials and it was not certain that it would be approved. I don’t know if that is the reason for the new dates.

My main philosophy with Vegas is to get a taste of (mostly) everything, so I like to go to new hotels. Every once in a while I’ll repeat. So far I’ve done Aria twice, Imperial Palace and the Quad or Linq version, and Mandalay once/4 seasons (in the same building as mandalay) once.
I’d say Bellagio and MGM as 1a and 1b, 2 Mirage, 3 MB and Park 4 NY and Luxor

I leave Aria out because of DQing repeats. I’m not above and actually want to stay at NYNY and Luxor once just to do it.

I checked the history of room renovations at Bellagio and Aria. Aria, to my knowledge, has not renovated their since the 2009 opening. Bellagio renovated in 2015 and are renovating currently. The first group came on-line this month. The rest will all be in operation by the end of June. So, I guess I was wrong.

Meh. While nice, I guess, these don’t exactly scream Bellagio to me. That’s to be expected with the continued effort to make everything on the strip neutral, though.

just got an email to my mlife account

it's not any date but it's got super broad availability (like both places 10-13th fully comp'd except for the god damn resort fee)

will probably book ours in the fall just as a respite from the cold

Pretty good so far. My legs are dying from walking so much and I’ve consumed far too many THC products but really enjoy staying at Caesars more than a couple other properties I’ve stayed at here in the past. It’s just so massive, you can walk for 30 mins and still not come close to covering 1/2 of the casino floor

I like Park’s location. Aria is right there. Take the tram to Bellagio (technically Vdara, but It’s the best way to get to Bellagio). NYNY is across Park Ave. There’s also a crosswalk over to the other side of Las Vegas Blvd. From there it’s easy to MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood and Paris.

Apparently it’s still shut down. Still, from The Park, the direct corridor to Aria, short walk to Vdara, short walk to Bellagio is very convenient.
