Rasras hopes to relocate nearby. “We would like to stay in the neighborhood," he says. "It is a great area and we have the best clientele." But he concedes that he’ll need an investor to make it happen, as he is not in a financial position to do it on his own post-pandemic.
also, fuck this developer Rasras was subleasing the spot at 2526 Eighth Ave. S. from Dina Kazakos-Elostta, his former business partner. Rasras had monthly payments to both her and to the landlord, Nashville-based HNP Properties, totaling nearly $13,000. When Rasras missed two rent payments during the pandemic, Kazakos-Elostta canceled the lease with HNP; it had less than four years remaining. Kazakos-Elostta opened the restaurant in 2004; Rasras has owned the restaurant solo since 2019, when Kazakos-Elostta moved to Florida. As COVID-related indoor dining restrictions have relaxed, business is booming again, Rasras says, and he’s caught up on rent. But HNP, which owns both the Athens Family Restaurant building and an adjacent former motel that is now a retail space, says it is time to build on the property. “These buildings should have been torn down 10 years ago,” says HNP’s Bill Hostettler. HNP purchased the properties in 2004 and 2007, as our sister publication the Nashville Post reported yesterday. “We’ve been gluing it back together," says Hostettler. "We need to tear it down and replace it." Plans are for a 7,000-square-foot commercial structure with 50 parking spaces. Other tenants — including Salon Fringe, Craft Vapor, Hue House of Hair, Gypsy Apple Beauty and Elise-Verne Creations — have month-to-month leases and have been given 90 days’ notice.
I went on Broadway on Sunday, and it felt normal and awesome to walk around inside and out without a mask.
And some people wonder why everyone is pissed that Exit In was sold to a developer. They fucking suck 99% of the time.
That’s a tough paddle on a calm day as is. Big open water and high winds probably led to white capping and change in water current making it difficult to paddle back. most of them are launching at cooks landing too which is opposite direction of Elm Hill
True yeah I’ve done that paddle a few times I guess I was thinking I would just let the wind take us and guide to the nearest drop off point on the lake Let a few people watch the kayaks, a few Uber to your cars and then drive around to pick everyone up so we don’t have to involve police/fireman but it could have been some kind of kayak tour group with a bunch of beginners
I wish more people would clean their trash up on Luau such a cool spot but it’s always littered with trash when we go :/
Need a little help, my buddies wife (they live in Brentwood) is planning a day drinking day for him downtown for his bday in early May. He's definitely more into good food/drink than hearing country music on broadway. What would you guys recommend for an area to get good/food cocktails where you can hopefully walk around a little or at least have short commutes between locations?
Off the top of my head, Germantown and 12 South would seem to fit the bill. The Gulch wouldn't be a bad idea. I also wouldn't eliminate downtown/Sobro area. I haven't really gone out drinking in over a year, so others may have better ideas than I.
Going to be in Franklin for the weekend and I need a recommendation for somewhere to eat dinner Saturday night. Needs to be somewhere with a fairly casual dress code but I really would like especially delicious food if at all possible. Plus reasonable prices if I want to have some drinks. Ideally with a covered patio or something since we're in a pandemic and it's probably going to be raining. Thank you in advance and sorry for being so needy.
Follow up and this one is longshot but does anyone know where I could pass a few hours indoors with a dog? Will have my dog with my and if it's raining and I can't be outside at the place I'm planning to be then I'll need an alternative for during the day Saturday. Very weird set of circumstances.
where did you end up going? mojo tacos would have been my too late recommendation they have really good tacos and drinks iyam
Local Taco in Franklin. It was pretty damn good. The one in Bham didn't last long and wasn't that good from what I heard. Capstone 88 told me someone on this board has some ownership in it maybe? I'd like to pat them on the back for the food at the Franklin location if so.
I did their lease deal in Brentwood. Had 2 buddies that invested. I don't have any contacts with them after John sold it a few years back
Anyone keeping up with the Nikki Phillippi stuff? Nashville influencer with 1m followers. Her dog, which she admits was regularly tormented by her child, bit said child because it grabbed the dogs food while it was eating so they euthanized the dog instead of rehoming it.
People like this are the worst. Dogs > humans Putting a dog down or rehoming one because of negligence or lack or accountability/responsibility only proves how shitty that human is.
^^ this clown moved his greyhound to an apartment and then gave it back up Same two shitty posters fall for my bait. Every time.
