thought about june but not sure i want to fuck with june heat lot of shit closed some combination of Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday right now making me a lil nervous since all the combos I can use all the comps are Sunday-Wed
Used to go to Vegas for the 4th of July every year. Fun time and oppressively hot. Really helps you lean into the self loathing that accompanies being in Vegas.
you nervous about shit being closed? we gamble some but mostly just enjoy walking the strip and hitting places for drinks/sitting outside/people watching/etc
I was there back in august did a Thursday to Sunday. I Walked whole strip from MB to Caesars across to harrahs and back. Then did downtown Fremont. Thursday was dead. Friday and Saturday were great. So I know what to expect. It’s not the same Vegas for sure. But I had a great time, because I didn’t have the pressures of going clubbing or picking a show. I was able to actually enjoy the architecture of places, enjoy being with my friends, etc. First two times I went to Vegas I went to a handful of hotels, and I vaguely remember the clubs but couldn’t remember which hotels. This August I got drinks where I could and just hotel hopped. Still enjoyed it. If I spend $200 on gambling over four days, I’ll be surprised. I’m not a yolo guy if I know odds are against me, so gambling isn’t my thing. I prefer stocks. But I do enjoy watching other people gamble. And I enjoy spending hours at a pool and milking a couple drinks. So this should be a nice get away. I think you can still have fun.
I’m a vegas novice and also not hard to please. I’ve only stayed at Paris for a work trip but on that trip I extended a day and wife and I stayed at the Luxor for one night. I really liked it. Booked a tower one bedroom suite. Was very pleased with the room. Wife and I ate dinner at the steakhouse in the hotel and thought it was reasonably priced and food was excellent. I took a walk around the pool area and thought the pool setup was cool. Granted I don’t have anything other than the Paris (not great) to compare it to. had a nice late night run at the blackjack table that resulted in a profit of about $300. Saw carrot top and got some good laughs. location isn’t convenient but I would totally stay there again for a couple of days
I once went to a Criss Angel show at Luxor for free as a seat filler because they were filming it. It wasn’t very good.
Glad I caught up on this thread, I’ve got basically the same offer as you in my Mlife account. We haven’t been to Vegas in a few years so this is tempting
we ended up booking in Feb so loooong way out but had the best availabilty for the comp'd nights that fit our schedule
That’s also good to know, haven’t messed with the schedule much to see how long the free nights are available for. Will definitely push off until this fall if possible. We did two or three years in a row where we went Sun-Wed of Thanksgiving week and loved that timing
This article mentions some interesting new food & beverage offerings at Caesar’s Palace. I found the article because Bobby’s Burger (by Bobby Flay) on the Strip between Park MGM and Aria was my favorite burger restaurant in Vegas. He has now opened one at Caesar’s. “Amalfi by Bobby Flay” replaces the Mesa Grill, which was a favorite of mine. Can’t wait to try Amalfi. The soon to come Stadia Bar looks damn interesting. At the end of the article is a link to “Every Restaurant and Bar That Opened In Vegas, 2021 Edition”. It’s worth reading even though it covers off-Strip openings too. In it I learned that Estiatorio Milos (formerly at Cosmopolitan) has re-opened in The Venetian. It’s a Greek cuisine. Best grilled octopus I’ve ever had. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/4/27/22404328/bobby-flay-burger-restaurant-open-caesars-palace
Looking for a pool cabana at Cosmo on a Saturday. Already have the rooms and a party suite facing the fountains. The rack rate is $1,700 for the day with no food or beverage included. Seems high. Any thoughts on how to get a better deal?
only way you get a better deal is if you already have a host. also theres a food and bev min most times
went cosmo. late May. picked fountain view room, so we'll see. I'll stop being lazy and read the thread, but any "must go to" restaurant rec's would be greatly appreciated!
The tickets will be outrageously priced of course, but probably fun to do. https://news3lv.com/news/local/immersive-flight-ride-flyover-headed-to-las-vegas-strip
I was really disappointed when I opened the article. I was expecting some kind of contraption slinging people off the side of a hotel tower. Sounds like that ride at Disney California Adventure.
Didn't see this posted yet - obviously a pretty big merger. https://vegas.eater.com/2021/4/28/22407658/tao-group-acquires-hakkasan-nightlife-restaurant-deal
resorts world opens late june? is there a soft opening or anything? i'm at encore july 4th weekend so would be cool for that to be open
Any golf courses you guys recommend? Most important aspect to me would be cool views/scenery also will be using Uber or Lyft so hopefully not too far from the strip
https://balihaigolfclub.com/ Friends have played here an enjoyed it. It’s right next to Mandalay Bay so easy trip from any strip hotels
You could do TPC or Bali Hai for 150 on a Saturday according to golfnow. I liked Revere a lot, but it’s in Henderson.
$150 was a ballpark guess I have no idea what decent course prices are there, if there’s one really worth it I’m open to it
I think Las Vegas national is supposed to be cool But if you’re going to be shitfaced and/or hungover go for convenience
Paiute, Rio Secco, Reflection Bay are all good. So is TPC if it’s under $150. Whatever you do don’t play Desert Pines
