We will be looking at this as a huge series come October. This loss could have clinched us the first pick in draft and we don’t even know it
It truly feels like we will not have even a decent offense for 3-4 more years. I truly believe our only hope is for Hinch to pull a power play by winning Illitch’s favor and forcing Avila out.
Saw this question asked online. how many position players that are currently on the roster, will be on roster next time we make the playoffs?
Baddoo!!!! He'll be playing the Gates Brown role as a pinch hitter when they make the 2034 wild card game.
Despite all the top prospects and a manager who had won a WS, have no faith this team gets it right any time soon.
Would sweep by the Royals get Avila fired? We can only hope. the prospects were Avilas saviors. The two he called up have sucked ass so far this season. And Tork was like 1 for 30 in spring training
Yo smeegsgreen how many strikeouts do we end to with today. We’ve already struck out 3 times through 1 inning
I wonder what some of you were expecting. They didn’t spend any money this off-season. This is always what was going to happen.
Commenting on how bad they are does not mean we expected them to do better... Disappointing part is the prospects not improving at all.
while it’s true they didn’t spend any money, would have been nice to see improvements from the prospects that they keep banking on for the future. Skubal and mize are worse than they were last year.
I am not going to worry about the pitchers at this point. It would be awesome if they were already fully developed but obviously they aren’t. What’s terrifying is that we have no hitters in the system, and maybe if we are lucky both Torkelson and Greene are good everyday players by 2024.
Yeah I don’t see Illitch firing him. Payroll is low and fan apathy is being not chartable with limited crowds and so many fans unable to even access games on TV.
Yes because this generation of Illitches doesn't give a shit about winning. Why Blashill still coaches wings, why Avila still runs tigers. They lucked out a former home town hero is an amazing hockey GM and lucked into Yzerman coming back.
They were calling for him to get fired on 97.1 last night. I think Hinch has an opt out after 3 years. That could force Illitch hand. I think he’s gone after the draft
Yeah. I still think they’ll be very good. You don’t watch baseball if you think young pitchers are just going to dominate immediately. There is clearly an adjustment period. Remember Verlander getting shelled his rookie year? I recall Cleveland lighting him up a ton.
Correct. He needed his on ramp back into the league. He will now likely get a decent job after this shit.
