And Weidman is one of the most overrated guys who somehow is still given decent billing because he is buddies with Dana, same with the trash bag of a fighter known as Gian Villante. (To be honest I don't know about the character of either guy but they both are not good, villainte stuck around much longer than he should have and Weidman caught lighting in a bottle vs aging Silva and has made his name off that despite getting owned in the ring multiple times).
didn't even make the main before the sandman came.. rose easily my favorite fighter through the years.. that must have been amazing to watch in real time
? think this would have been bigger news after the racist trumper insanity from some of these fights coming his direction
buddy if you are picking fighters based on a more progressive ideology, you’re gonna have a hard time
just got around to watching Rose v Weili. UFC fans are trash here's a person who had to go through a process maybe 10% of those people could successfully do in just getting to the fight with Joanna. The covid situation traveling from China, quarantine, cutting weight and prepping in a hotel room by herself. Then puts on the literal fight of the year and those hogs still couldn't help themselves and just booed off of pure instinct before the fight even started. It's hard to imagine Andrade or a fighter of any other nationality getting that treatment. The UFC really needs to cut a promo for its fans to watch in arena. It would not be hard whatsoever to get fans to realize how stupid booing is. Sure if it's a Colby or someone who earns it, but ffs... Weili?
Paul responded on Tuesday during his brother Logan’s “Impaulsive” podcast, telling Cormier, “I’ll beat the f–k out of your fat ass, too.”
I don't know how anyone watched him fight Colby Covington and thought he was boring. I think too many people watched him for the first time inhis first fight against Jorge and assumed that's who he was. Guy is as fun to watch as Jon Jones was in his prime.
More power than Jones for his weight imo Also Conor Mcgregor calling out Usman like he wants that fight. his shit talk is hilarious but lands much better when our most recent memories of him in the cage aren’t him in the fetal position.
I have re-watched it prob 50 times. He was limp immediately. His body just bounced off of Usman's. He walked/talked it off well in the octagon afterwards, but I think he's probably re-thinking everything lol
he became the askren meme that he joked about forever. he got brutally ko’d. idk how he can go back to being the way he was after a knockout like that
Think that the embarrassment of being knocked out in front of all his Florida people caused his pride to play it off a bit. He was knocked clean out and then took a few hammer fists. His brain was rocked like he’d never felt.
"I wasn't expecting that power, didn't feel it in the first fight." Well Jorge you stood there and smiled while he was teeing off on you. I'm not sure what he thought was going to happen.
They offered him the fight. Time line didn't work out. https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id...ufc-june-date-was-impossible-him?platform=amp
Usman was WAY better prepared for Masvidal’s tells, than Masvidal was for his. Jorge got clocked cleanly several times before the one that dropped him (I know you know this, just stating it). I was shocked that Usman fought Jorge’s style, let alone that he beat him badly at it.
Masvidal came in riding high on what he did with 6 days notice in the first one. Usman has really grown though. Can't take anything away from him.
I don't see anyone at WW that can really challenge Usman now with his improved striking. He has a striking advantage over any of the wrestlers (Colby, Edwards, Burns) and Wonderboy could probably pick him apart on the feet but Usman could just go back to wrestling to beat him.
I like the rematch with Colby and the Edwards fight is intriguing to me as well. Also how does Masvidal underestimate Usman? Obviously he did, his overconfidence was showing big time.
I hate to agree with Schaub but I do feel like Izzy will be pissed off and looking to make up for the Jan loss.
I don’t think Covington will fair any better this time than last but it’s a good payday for Usman presumably so let’s hope he knocks him out. Usman has better striking Usman has better wrestling Usman has a better resume I really don’t know what makes this an exciting fight outside of it being a chance to see Colby get finished.
I get annoyed by these idiots Masvidal and Covington that are being rewarded with title fights for not fighting.
After Usman implodes Cov’s face, what does he do? move up a division to fight a contender? I think a lot of people would pay to see him fight Paolo, Whittaker, or Till. Go up, win or lose, whatever. Next Fight to retain his current belt, then hope that Chimaev guy can live up to his own hype within the next year or two? I’d like to see Usman fight Wonderboy, but I can’t see Wonderboy actually winning. If Wonderboy could put together a little win streak, that would be a money maker fight though. Next- Cov Up a division - for a decent name (Till) back down - Wonderboy/Burns Back up a div- Whitaker/Paolo? *I don’t think he’d fair well a division above, I just want him to be able to max out his pay days, and I think that’s the best route- try a legacy fight up there (wrestle fuck to a boring decision/don’t get slept and fuck your brain up) and wait for someone in his division to boost their reputation (Edwards?..Chimaev?)
