I hate to admit it, because I love Rainn, but Terry Carnation was easily the worst part of Radio Rental -- so bad that whenever I recommended the pod to friends, I told them to just skip past his bits.
What other DD episodes are really good? Might try and do them all at some point, but hopping around for now. I’ve done Xbox, VTech, PBX, TalkTalk, and tried Manfred. Manfred made me tune out. I have the Saudi oil stuff queued.
Yeah, I downloaded all of these and listed to the first ten on a trip and was bored. Still have like 80 to go and not sure if this is worth it.
I skipped around to ones that seemed like they would be cool Shadow Brokers was great Others I liked: WannaCry, Bangladesh bank heist, Operation Bayonet and other dark market episodes they mention, Master of pwn
Plowing through this. So good. Anybody have recs for spy pods in this type of storytelling format? I've listened a little to the spy pods that come up on Google, but they seem pretty macro/superficial. Would like a first person that goes into day-to-day spycraft detail, or a third person that does that. Stories that talk about assignments beginning to end.
I heard an ad for one called I Spy that sounds basically just like this. I haven't listened yet though
Not sure where to post this but apparently Eduard Hapsburg (yes that kind of Hapsburg) responds to people who talk shit to him on Twitter From Lions Led by Donkeys this week
This American Scandal podcast would be so much better if the narrator didn't do dialogue of stuff that may or may have not happened
What a Time to be Alive is a fairly solid comedy/riffing podcast on niche internet current events that you can jump in at random episodes.
Finished Our Thing based on this threads recommendation, it was fantastic. Hoping they do a second season.
Nah. More shooting the shit vaguely around something that went viral on Twitter but goes off into lots of tangents. More like all fantasy everything or doughboys
https://counterclockpodcast.com/ Listening to season three now and its pretty good. Crazy ass story. I'm on episode 6 of 20 and still have no idea what the hell happened.. Anybody listen and have any ideas? Dude had a gun but could he kill his dad, step mom and two step sisters because he wanted to got to the prom? Fuck man, its crazy!
Hadn't listened to them. Saw or heard an advert with this particular case and downloaded it to try and was hooked. Will try them after I finish this one though
PFT absolutely killed it. I’m only about half way through the episode now; about had to pull over I was laughing so hard when Randy Snutz revealed his email pw and PFT in the background was just dying laughing.
pft seems to be a great person to perform with. He can roll with anything and performers feed on him giving them that kind of feedback. and funny shit gets funnier with funny people find it funny.
I’m 7 episodes in, I have a 45 minute commute and had yard work to do last night... Spoiler Feel like the most likely scenario at this point is that everyone is a few minutes off on their time frames because it was 1989, and that Jeff likely did it, interested to see where it goes from here
I still have 54 minutes left, starting last night on my bike. Oh god the Grizz was great. Snutz and Carissa are great. Jessica McKenna is growing on me, in part because she obviously really loves parks IRL. Looking forward to the rest.
Yeah, I did as well but there is more info to come. I'm on episode 13(I too have about the same commute)
I've been watching this show on Prime, and kept thinking how it could probably be just as good as a podcast, so I searched for a survival pod and found the exact show as a podcast. Planning on giving it a listen this afternoon... Later, I'll probably at least give a shot to these as well: Parcast is usually pretty good https://www.parcast.com/survival Aussie version of the same shit https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-i-survived/id1380588512
Couple things. Carl tart as Charles Barkley was perfect. apparently the first uploaded version had pft sound checking as queen elizabeth before deciding on being the grizz. Be cool to see how these guys warm up
Finished it tonight Spoiler still feel like the most likely scenario is he did it. Thought the forensics guy that looked at it with fresh eyes in episode like 18 I think just hit the nail on the head about the case. The Holly case in Florida is fascinating, would love a podcast about that in more detail.
Sorry if this sounds crazy but I’ve been drinking(had a dog pass today and he was probably the best dog ever..) I hear ya and completely agree. I’m still on episode 14. The only thing that sticks out to me is, he hasn’t done anything similar since. They alluded to him maybe being a sociopath but he assimilated within normal eeryday life pretty seamlessly. Crazy story
I had that version. He kept saying “you’re a rude boy!” like a British woman. I think he was going to be Queen Elizabeth and then decided at the last second to be the Griz
That's amazing. He's a goddamn genius. Like when he developed Alimony Tony into a full-fledged character just from someone who submitted a tagline. Any time I hear the phrase "Weirdimony Alimony Tony" I crack up.
after reading Reddit they came to conclusion he was listening to the previous episode for cannon and practicing queen elizabeth. Glad that Cuck Barkley will be back. Although I need more Memphis Kansas breeze here soon
Re: Counterclock I’m on 18 (these fly by). As of the last episode about the trial I am not at all convinced that Jeff did it. I don’t think it’s impossible, but I couldn’t convict him based on what they’ve presented in this podcast. The timeline is so messy, and we don’t even know if it’s the actual timeline. The gun thing is also pretty compelling contrary evidence. I’m still on team Adnan and this case is way short of even that IMO. It just seems so flimsy and there’s a pretty good chance it happened while Jeff was accounted for. What about the mystery man in the truck? The receipt and jeans. I kind of tuned out/passively listened after the trial was done. This whole Florida business didn’t hold my attention until they rolled up to the dump site and the murder suspect was there. At that point I stopped and am going to go back and listen again more focused. Maybe there’s an answer in there, too.
I don’t think there’s enough evidence to convict him but I think it’s far and away the most likely answer.
Handmaiden’s Tale radio theater podcast by Wondery is legit. Worth a listen if you like radio theater or have never tried radio theater.
Agree with your occam's razor take. Crazy they convicted him on really nothing but a lie or a DA stretching truth. Thought it was interesting that the PA crime investing dude said that he'd thrown the shotgun down and called it a day. To me, that's something a professional would know to do and makes me think it was Jeff. Him being tied to Holly family is super weird(as well as them being linked to the area around the time) and the way they roll could be indicative of a bigger plot but still seems like a reach. Thought the pod was good and will try another season.
Wondery also does American Scandal which is great. so far I’ve knocked out: Lance Armstrong (still producing episodes) Joe McCarthy and the Red Scare BALCO Now onto Big Tobacco
Thanks bro. Here’s a pic of the monster. Was leaving for the gym early last Thursday and found him outside all rigger-ed up with a pool of blood by his mouth. We think he had an aneurysm. My youngest are twin girls and he was damn gentle with them. Absolutely babe magnet to boot
