I think there is enough demand in that area to support another smaller brewery but that is interesting.
I had a good experience with the Sod Yard (next to Niki’s West). Legal grass at illegal prices. Not sure how prices stack against Woerners, but Sod Yard sold me a half pallet of Emerald Zoysia for $120.
I recommend you order "The Red Headed Stranger" burger if it's available when you're at Saw's. Introducing ‘The Red Headed Stranger’ for lunch today Pimento cheese, pepper jelly, candied peppers, bacon and white sauce. Don’t miss out on another amazing special by @mahtats
I called him to see about borrowing a trailer and he mentioned your Sod Yard recommendation. Coshatt's didn't deliver but DriveByBBQ got that shit done with a yeoman's effort. Entire pallet and 30 plus bags of top soil all loaded in by hand down two flights of stairs. I'm a whooped ass. Spoiler: Sod is heavy
Appreciate it. Yes, tilled and graded by hand. I hauled 5 pick up beds worth of dirt, sticks, leaves, and ancient shit out of there while prepping too. Nandina roots are the devil's pubic hair. Between the limited sunlight, rocky soil, and our dog, the odds of the lawn surviving aren't great. If it doesn't make it, it won't be from lack of water or gaps in the seams.
whoa whoa whoa sry i'm very late to this. haven't checked the thread in a few weeks minus the brief appearance to confirm that i too know drewzy. have you heard anything more on this tegg?
Nothing public, but I have heard rumors that he's explored it. I would not put it past him to float his own name as a publicity stunt.

I don't know Katie, but it's hard to imagine her being capable of producing the abhorrent bullshit out of her mouth that you need in this fucked up state to win a Republican primary.
I think she's just going to outraise and outspend. She won't have to actually say the shit, her campaign will.
I just want to know what it would take to sync them. Seems like University and 24th are the worst. Never know if it’s going to take 2 minutes or 10.
preach, brother i live in highland park on niazuma, which turns into 24th, and i have given up taking what would be the most logical way downtown (staying on that one goddamn road!) because it takes so fucking long. i've found it's best to turn left at university and then just rip richard arrington all the way dt.
Every time. The lights on RA are beautiful. just have to watch out for the cocky nurses who try cross at the last second and fuck with your timing.
one more bit of wisdom i've picked up since moving to my new digs in august: do not let people fool you into thinking that going straight on clairmont at the 32st st intersection and then cutting through forest park by rougaroux is a "shortcut" to parkside/mom's/crestwood. even if it doesn't feel like it geographically, it's much faster to take the left on 32nd and then just take 5th all the way down to wherever you're going (with mom's, you'll eventually need to get over to third, though).
whoa whoa whoa let's have some nuance here It all depends on traffic. If no one is by the Avondale library, my friend, it's quicker to go 39th. May God have mercy on your soul if you drive through there around 3PM, though... And yes, I will die proudly on this hill.
I will also go a little out of my way to take 1st Ave S because of the lack of traffic lights. Even with the weird bridge support in the middle of the road situation.
It's gotten so damn expensive, though. I'm not sure if their overhead is that high that they've needed to raise prices, but it's expensive for a family.
i have noticed that from several lunch spots. Saws and Chicken Salad chick specifically are more expensive now than they were in 2019. Just assuming they all got their asses kicked by Covid.
Oh, agreed. And I realize they have to do what they have to do. But when Rougaroux opened, you could get a 12" specialty sub for like $12. Now it's smaller and $16. And no more sides gratis.
I can’t think of anywhere I’ve regularly seen whole briskets but I have seen them at Piggly Wiggly and occasionally at Winn Dixie
