AP is harder to get and goes for above retail, so I’d guess that will be a better value buy. It’s also just a better watch imo. The finishing and craft on the AP is far better than the VC in my biased opinion.
I like the VC. I know I'm in the minority, but the Royal Oak has just never "done it" for me...at least not to the level of hype that it gets.
Have you ever tried one on or seen one in person? It’s a super comfortable bracelet, and the way that it reflects light in person is incredible. Can’t do either of those justice with just a pic.
Spot on. Remains hands down my favorite watch and my daily go-to. I grossly underestimated the beauty.
Hard to describe until you’re sitting in a restaurant with some weird colored blue or green light and turning your wrist is like a light show lol. I think the Royal Oak is the best steel bracelet watch in the world.
Only 1 way to settle this. Hokeamania will have to send me his Royal Oak so I can try it on. Jorts can send me his VC thereafter. I'll report back to the thread.
I don't feel like that's abnormal, particularly for a sports watch. It's really tough to go to the winder in the morning and pull another one out because the RO stands out. My prior daily wear had been the 126600 but the RO has such a better fit. I'm not really a jeans and t-shirt guy, though, either.
Plan is to get a Daytona from on of my ADs & flip it... worth burning a bridge to level up IMO weirdly, they have been calling me immediately as inventory arrives & giving me right of 1st refusal
It’s great. Some complain about the thickness, but I really don’t notice it. Wears fine, maybe even less tall than the Speedy because it’s a slab. Wasn’t much (1 time zone), but it was fun to use the jumping hour hand as intended on a recent trip. And I really like the aluminum bezel more than the ceramic. Not that it was an option for me. Compared it to my stepdad’s Rolex GMT (all black) and it’s similar but the Rolex is much more refined. Tudor is more rugged and toolish, useful for those of us who are less refined. All in all, I love it and it fits me and my personality/style.
Sweet Jesus. I know they are impossible to get, but if anyone here has a connect to get one, I'd be forever grateful.
ARCO please stop reading through this entire thread during which I said innumerable stupid things and wasted thousands of dollars on shitty watches, thanks
dblplay1212 You need to stop looking at Rolex's MSRP and getting your hopes up. You're not getting that watch on a jubilee for less than like 20k, let alone with the oyster bracelet that was just released like 2 weeks ago.
Needs may be the wrong word but our financial situation has changed drastically since we were married, in large part due to a career change I was pushed to make by Jorts and others, so I want her to have it upgraded. I mean I have shoes that cost more than we paid for her wedding ring. That feels wrong. :/
My wife's "need" for jewelry has served me well, as evidenced in this thread. She's happy, I'm happy & it's greased the AD's wheels
I have no patience at all, so while I wait on the Rolex Pepsi, looking at some Tudors. Really love this but doesn't really make sense to do a Pepsi bezel bc it'll collect dust once I get the Pepsi. So looking at one of these and then switching to the dark brown leather strap from the one above.
