I had a dream we were good at football again. Then my b*tt woke me up because it had to urgently dispose of fish heads from Guy Fieri's Flavortown kitchen at 4AM. I'm trying to discern the meaning of this omen.
LOL....miss bunt attempts to make it 1-2 count, decide to steal and its a strike em out throw em out.
Hallmark fires a laser to the plate to nab the winning runner and save the game, heading to the 12th.
I get you have to send that guy, but for a pinch runner and a ball ripped up the middle with 2 outs...holy shit that dude was running in slow motion
MSU pitcher over 100 pitches and struggling to find the zone, maybe they can make him pay this inning
Almost another strike em out throw em out....thankfully that throw sailed. Wind may have took it honestly.
Skers win 9-6, Schwellenbach (BIG 10 POY) goes the final 4 innings on the mound. not our cleanest series but good to still get the win.
saturday’s loss was bad, but it can’t be said enough that this team finds different ways to win. By no means are they an SEC juggernaut but the coaching seems to be the best in a long fucking time. I don’t understand or know baseball recruiting very well but I love they are trying to lock down Nebraska kids. Outside of volleyball I’m not sure the state has a stronger group of potential in a sport unless a professional tractor nascar like series appears.
With the win today Husks have won 7 consecutive conference series in conference play for the first time in school history. GBR idk why Sharpe doesn’t count the split between Ohio State/Iowa but I’m going with it
Cuz honestly Matt was a fairly good color guy IMO. Btw plz don’t h8 me cuz I’m in the tractor to much
Kent Pavelka ’s removal from football calls deserves the same care in investigation as the insurrection.
So we're tops in the B1G which is good enough for 24th in the country? I still don't understand how college baseball works. Hopefully we can get to Cal State Fullerton's level someday or whatever
Honestly, for once I don’t hate the quote. He is right, it’s year four, it shouldn’t be crazy to expect to start winning games.
A small part of me wonders if Frost pissed Moos off with the Oklahoma stuff. To come out and say those should be realistic expectations for Frost in year four and also the quote about how we haven’t fared well against Illinois lol Seems a tad different than his usual sunshine pumping crap.
I have zero doubt that the Oklahoma debacle drove a wedge into their relationship. It’s probably a good thing that someone with some authority quits bending over backwards to give the benefit of the doubt to the golden boy. I’m a fan of them both but there needs to be some accountability and professionalism until we start winning.
How can you be a fan of them without the winning? They are unprofessional assholes. At least Mike Riley seemed like a nice guy.
I mean if you ignore the current state of the football program, 8-9 wins should absolutely be realistic expectations for year 4 at a university with our history and resources. I’m sure Moos probably sees the writing on the wall that he’s gonna be out of a job here before Frost. He really has nothing to lose with these kind of statements at this point and he can save face when asked in the future by saying he had higher expectations than what was achieved imo.
Moos has made a number a good hires. The basketball and baseball programs are trending in the right direction. The football hire hasn’t turned out like hoped but Frost was the only option the fans would have accepted at the time. Frost is more difficult to rationalize, it probably just comes down to me wanting to be a fan of his. His history as a player in the programs is a big part of it. I’m optimistic what I’m seeing in the young athletes on the oline and defense. As time has gone on, it has been increasingly difficult to support him as a coach. This year will tell us a lot more.
I think there’s a “ceremony” planned for Friday afternoon. Hopefully Hoiberg comes in WWE style, steals the shovel from Frost and says the basketball team is taking over.
