Whyyyyyyy isssssss thisssssss aaaaaa thingggggg Spoiler; money! But all these boxers are like Olympic sprinters calling out decathletes in the 100m. Just dumb.
My coworkers always get into this shit and act like the MMA guys have a chance. I always explain that it's like a triathlon champion trying to win the Tour de France. Yeah, they might be pretty damn good at cycling but they aren't going to beat someone who only cycles.
When will a championship caliber boxer come to mma? spoiler: never because uncle Dana needs to take home more than all the fighters combined on any given card.
Punch drunk Toney got his ass choked out but that's about it. The second they took a leg kick it would be over. Essentially how Conor tried using a boxing stance vs Dustin.
If it happens I hope it will be as legendary of a betting opportunity as Conor vs Floyd. So much dumb meathead/Irish money deflated that line making it the goat value on Floyd. Idk if we’d see that on Francis.
to this day the most what the fuck main event I’ve ever seen. Like literally neither of them trained for the fight outside of maybe some 30 second sparing sessions. It was like overweight kids with asthma trying to run the mile in gym class by the first 2 mins.
There was soooo much money. Line was Floyd -2000 or more at open. Right before the fight he was around -400.
I like a ton of stuff tonight which is usually a bit of a tough realization, if this was easy everyone would do it. Luke Sanders -130 (maybe go ITD) KB Bhullar +185, and will dabble on via KO +650. He looked like he didn't belong on a Cage Warriors undercard last time out, but he is much bigger than Michailidis and has clean standup, if he doesn't get KO'd he should get a KO because Michailidis keeps his hands lower than he should. Hughes/Lookboomee - not much to say here Carolina/Botelho - not much to say here TJ Brown +120 is appealing, not locked yet. Kai is just not + in really any category. Haven't locked but maybe Pinheiro/Markos, Markos is 6-9-1 in the ufc and 10-10-1 overall. Get her off the roster, the problem is she has beat some names and lost to nobodies, I dont love any value here unless i":m taking Pinheiro on a parlay, which isn't all that appealing considering its her UFC debut. Stamann +205 vs Dvalishvili. Stamann has value here, he is better on his feet, if he can avoid playing the "get taken down, stand up, rinse/repeat" game hes got a shot. Love strickland over Jotko. High price, prob a parlay piece. Giga Chikadze is 6' tall, Cub hasn't beat anyone 5'11 or taller in a decade, if ever. Love cub, hate the match up. Giga is on a 7 fight win streak vs sus competition... its just hard to love cub here vs a guy who is going to be active from range from the get go. Probably parlay with Strickland. Cutelaba/Jacoby... Lean plus money on Jacoby, trying to find a way in, whether its u1.5, fight doesnt start round 3 or something else. Reyes +104. Last fight looked liek the title shot hangover. He was in a title fight for a reason. Jiri has as good of a Pre-ufc record as anyone beating King Mo, Fabio Maldonado, and CB Dollaway in RIZIN, all via KO, he took some shots vs Oezdemir before getting the kO. This is far from a lock, but I'll take the UFC vet who has seen literally the best in the sport +money any day of the week.
What an annoying one to start it off. Hate the ol miss the first round finish and gas out in the process.
i wonder how many more years decades this nonsense scoring system will be in place most damage and closer to finishing, pride rules there's a clear winner there every time.. instead somehow a ref gave that fight to jacoby. more damage in rd1 than 2 and 3 combined... arbitrary time intervals are more important than hurting someone in a fight i'm not an mma historian by any stretch, but it seems like they adopted this rule set to get sanctioned in the early days and now it's running off momentum
Damn what a body kick, and Cub is an insanely tough dude. He looked a whole weight class bigger than Cub too.
The swelling looked like he already had a broken left orbital. And then he gets hit with that right on the same spot.
That matchup was a lot of fun. Reyes is a badass in stand-up, and even he looked out-classed. Jiri has the reach of someone who is half a foot taller than him; just insane. His elbows look sharp as damn knives, too. Not sure why anyone would stand up with him from this point forward
Jan will wreck Glover, and then Jan/Jiri will be one of my most hyped fights ever, especially at 205.
