Did a mock draft on The Draft Network (no trades). Thoughts? 29. Terrance Marshall Jr - WR - LSU 62. Kelvin Joseph - CB - LSU 92. Quinn Meinerz - IOL - Wisconsin Whitewater 135. Talanoa Hufanga - S - Southern Cal 142. Kary Vincent Jr - CB - LSU 173. Adrian Ealy - OT - Oklahoma 178. Josh Imatorbhebhe - WR - Illinois 214. Justin Hilliard - LB - Ohio State 220. Mustafa Johnson - IDL - Colorado 256. Luke Farrell - TE - Ohio State
Below was mine last evening. In your scenario my only takeaway would be we would probably need to go get one of the vet DL out there but that's doable I skipped round 7 in the ss because once you finish the format is more bloated In reality we just need 3 or 4 good players, I don't care where they come (although DL and CB would be nice) but we were the best team in the NFC with everything but our C and backup RB coming back. For some reason the talking heads love to trash our front office because they didn't sign a big outside FA like letting Jones go so we could sign Adoree Jackson or Kenny Galloday would have been so much better
I'd be stunned if we didn't go CB or OT in the first. One of the things we consistently do well is drafting premium positions with our 1st. Like literally every 1st rounder we've had is QB, OT, CB, or pass rusher outside of Savage and Haha.
I always when I used to see the LB from Missouri mocked to us. FFS the franchise that has made clear that they don't value the position is just going to all of a sudden draft a 5'11" middle linebacker
I’d be shocked if we take a WR that isn’t a versatile type dude at some point over a bigger body. I know MVS is inconsistent, but he is one of the 4-5 best deep threats in the league (even with drops) and that’s really not questionable. Lazard is good at what he is and Adams is the ultimate best of everything. What they really seem to be missing is somebody who can take a 7-8 yard slant and turn it into 30 yards (who isn’t Adams) or any sort of gadget Ervin type player who is a natural pass-catcher too. (also think they go CB or OL or IDL with first pick)
anyone mocking us taking an ILB in the first is likely not worthy of our time lol also, I agree with their take that ILB doesn't require significant resources
I've read some smart takes that say that Green Bay really only has two kinds of WRs in mind in this offense (since we already have Tae), big guys like Lazard, MVS, and EQ who can really contribute in the run game or the motion guy like Tyler Ervin who will run jet stuff and ideally make people miss. That's the spot I think we can really upgrade and wouldn't require too much draft capital.
agree, I worded it poorly but what I was trying to say is give me Ervin on steroids. Healthy, Rondale Moore or a Toney type guy (think they are gone when we look, but that’s the type, and I think they have a deep class in that regard)
If you take away MVS's imperfections he's Deandre Hopkins. He's an incredibly useful player. Sure he's not going to catch it every time, but he stretches defenses and opens things up for Adams, Jones, and BBT.
Mine wasn’t a prediction of what I think they’ll do. Just what I would like to see at each spot with what was available.
I am starting to see Caleb Farley available at 29 when I do mock drafts. Would he be the way to go over guys like Stokes or Greg Newsome II? Is he an injury concern? Today I did a draft of: 1. Farley 2. Quinn Meinerz 3. Amon Ra St Brown 4. Osa Odighizuwa With that haul + Snacks we win the Super Bowl
I feel like I am going to be reaching a bit either way but I am looking at either Stokes or Samuel at CB or Samuel Cosmi at OT
I will probably be away when our pick comes up in the mock draft if someone else wants to make it (round 2) My board that I was looking at: Spoiler Dyami Brown Daviyon Nixon Carlos Bashan Amari Rodgers Milton Williams If all of those players go or you feel strongly about someone else feel free to pick
The first round is never fun for us. Even when things turn out well it ends up being strange at the time.
The Packers have had HOF QB play this entire millennium and only have one title to show for it, yikes.
doesnt help when you have diva QBs playing for you that look out for themselves more than the team in Favre and Rodgers
Don’t hate the pick but after today news I didn’t care who we took although just once I’d like to see an offense weapon taken
