For me 1. JOK (type of player needed in NFL back 7 today) 2. Bateman (think he becomes an all pro and helps immensely when it is time to part ways with OBJ) 3. Take best player available, prefer on D
Yes, I’m talking about Elijah Moore. I like Rondale, but those injuries are concerning at 26. Now if they go another position in the 1st, I definitely think he l’d be worth a second round pick.
If we are staying at 26, my defensive wish list if one of JOK (unfortunately, don't think he will be here at this pick), Collins, Rousseau (I like him more than most and it is hard to question his production). Don't want a CB/S here at 26 as I don't think any of them are justifiable at this pick (the top end CBs will be gone) If trading up, might as well go balls to the wall and go far enough up to get Parsons. WR give me Bateman at 26.
I would take either over Bateman. Both have different skill sets than our current WR's and can stretch the field.
Again, I think you need to think long term if going WR. Rondale is essentially a 5-9 scatback. With OBJ and/or Landry leaving after next year, Bateman steps right in to one of their spots. Would rather put Kareem Hunt in the slot than waste a pick at 26 for Rondale Moore. Hard no for me.
Higgins will step in for Landry if we make that move. Bateman doesn't bring anything to the table that Higgins doesn't already possess. And lining up Higgins and Bateman puts us in a position in which we are lining up 2 of the same WR and still would have a problem stretching the field. Moore would give us a weapon with versatility much close to a Tyreke Hill than a scat back.

The Browns haven’t ruled out picking a player that plays offense or defense. They are still discussing taking a player tonight. They could stay put, trade up, or trade down.
Drafting a player tonight may or may not be in the cards tonight for the Browns, who may or may not trade players on the roster *or draft picks* as they are looking to improve both the offense and defense this year. More as it develops.
Would’ve been fine trading down with all the options available but glad pick is in. Hope it’s one of those 2
He seems like a fine late first round pick, but can’t say I’m not a little heart broken JOK fell to us and we didn’t take him. Especially if he goes to the Ravens I’m not sure how this guy from Kentucky went +10 picks over JOK
I think you could possibly do this, swap 2nd rounders, give up the early 3 this year, and give up 3rd next year. Might have to mix in a 4th or 5th or both. I think 2nd round could be really wild, as a whole. Without a normal season and combine this year, I think teams are valuing picks next year higher than normal.
I think its pretty evident this regime has run analytics suggesting LBs just aren't a priority, so I don't think we're going to do anything to try to get JOK, even if JAX is a great trade partner at the top of the round.
SI grade: CLEVELAND Browns A- Greg Newsome II CB | Northwestern The fourth cornerback goes off the board at pick 26. Newsome has put together some fantastic tape through the course of his collegiate career. He can play man or zone coverage and has excellent movement skills. His upside is that of a number one cornerback. He still has some injury concerns, but when on the field, his tape is first-round worthy. Cleveland is no longer the laughing stock of the NFL. They are starting to make a lot of excellent picks. Newsome is a great value in the back half of the first round. The Browns need stability alongside Denzel Ward, and Newsome could be a great running mate. This team is putting itself in a position to win a super bowl. Yahoo grade: 26) Cleveland Browns: CB Greg Newsome II, Northwestern – This is a coup for the Browns, nabbing a player whom many believed would've been gone before now. Newsome is a bulldog-caliber competitor, and a tremendous athlete. That secondary could be really strong now with Denzel Ward, Newsome, Grant Delpit and Greedy Williams all young and highly talented. Wanna stop the Bills and Chiefs? Beef up that secondary. Grade: A
Not related to us, thank god, but what an awful pick by the jags at 25 to get Etienne. Woof. Don’t get me wrong, he’s really good. I am just in the camp that most RBs you can get in rounds 2-5, unless you get a guy like AD or Chubb. Jags have bigger needs than a rb. If they wanted a rb then get Rhamondre Stevenson in the 2-4 rounds. Also unrelated, what a shit show the packers are right now. Rodgers about to flip the bird and walk.
I love that Newsome doesn't have to start right away but I bet he'll beat out greedy by the second preseason game
I like the Newsome pick, but now trade basically all the rest of the Browns picks to move up to get JOK. Can't believe he is still available. Newsome and JOK would be an absolute home run for this draft.
