It’s basically exactly what you’d expect. One kid looks like he’s started at a P5 school before and has the physical tools to back it up. The other looks like a freshman with limited tools. Coan is also confident throwing downfield. Has probably thrown 5 balls at least 15+ yards downfield already. Pyne is keeping everything within 5 yards of the LOS, and the one deep ball he threw was 5 yards under thrown.
that’s kind of promising, I do not expect this team to be able to compete with the top 3 this year but it could be a fun year if coan let’s it rip and we get to see some Buchner from time to time. I think rees will open it up this year and use tyree and kyren in creative ways. Plus Mayer and the talent at receiver. It should be fun to watch.
Have spoken to a few folks that saw him workout this offseason. He’s apparently far more athletic than what his Wisconsin film showed.
The one thing Kyren does a lot better than Tyree is the angles he takes running the football. He never takes it wider than he needs to, and he gets upfield just as quickly even without the same burst.
Pyne needs to put all 190 pounds behind every ball he throws downfield. And it’s not particularly accurate when it does get there.
Played one drive. 3 and out. Made two guys miss on a 1st down, two yard carry. Tried to force a 3rd down throw to Tyree over the middle that was double covered and may have been a missed interference.
