Always. Hate being the team who gives up the round improvement pick, love being the team that gets one.
Watching Doaks highlights, he does appear to have good vision and hands, would agree that he’s not going to be a home run threat
I could be wrong but I see Long being the end of Smythe. He fills the role of more traditional in line TE and is more useful in the passing game than Smythe. Gesicki will still have his role as basically a glorified big slot WR.
You're new to the Dolphins thread so you probably don't know, but this is kind of his thing. The Fins, Heat or Canes have never once made a move that wasnt obviously a total disaster. It's especially hilarious reading his Heat hot takes considering their success as an organization in the last decade.
I think the disconnect is that we are desperate for a RB and for the 2nd draft in a row, they ignored the position despite having more than enough draft capital to find an impact player. They seemed to get really good value with all of the 2nd and 3rd round picks, just didn’t get the biggest remaining need.
They tried to trade back into the first for a RB but it didn't work out. I'm ok with that. No need to reach in a very weak RB class when we can pick from a deeper pool next year. The OL should be better and Waddle and Fuller should help the running game as well. We can sign another veteran as well.
Gaskin is good at what he's good at. Very useful player to have. I saw a tweet pointing out how efficient he was in the passing game. One of the top RBs in yards per target, yards per route, ect. and he pass blocks well. Just kinda struggles in short yardage and goal line situations. If you sign a vet to handle that I think we're fine for now. I really believe the added speed on offense will help give our running game room to breathe as well.
Our one bad draft review in that graphic southlick posted was written by a guy named Thor. To be fair to Thor, he was the toughest grader all around.
They got very good value throughout the draft. Yes, Phillips was a risk at 18 and Najee would have filled a need, but Phillips is a top 10 pick without the injury issues and also fills a need. Holland in round 2 again was good value and could replace what was lost when Minkah was traded. Also a pretty clear indicator they don't believe Iggy can work in the slot. I don't get the TE in round 3, but if the value is good, fuck it.
watching Waddle highlights. There was a massively noticable difference between Tua and Mac. Mac seemed to always underthrow Waddle and turn TDs into 20 yard completions.
