Everyone here needs to stop trying to take my freedom to choose which at home day care (they call it a preschool) I want to send my three year old twins to for $2k a month. I wake up each month thanking the lord I have the freedom to choose and am not a socialist... also I love living in a country where things that are supported by 70% of citizens have no chance of passing because reasons. This is an introductory economics problem. There is no labor shortage. There is a shortage of people willing to work for the shit wage you’re offering. Those aren’t the same thing.

Cincinnati has more semi trucks pass through it than any other city in America. I’m actually surprised the Brent Spence isn’t the busiest bridge in America. There’s a strong push to build a bypass to the east of the city for all that pass through traffic because at our current pace we will have the worst traffic in the country by 2050.

So in a race with two good Democrats and six Republicans trying to out-MAGA each other we end up with two Republicans trying to fill my dead congressman’s seat. I feel bad for Jana Lynne Sanchez, who is one of the more vocal progressive voices in this area but came half a percentage point short of second. Heard pretty much nothing from Democrats by way of support for either candidate.
How can one human be so bad at this? Next time you need to skirt our tax laws, we won’t answer because you want people to vote.

Talked about this yesterday during the derby, these events need to be vaccine mandatory and they need to pound that shit into the ground when they broadcast it. The best way to get people to do this (aside from cash) is to show people having fun BECAUSE they are vaccinated.
even the "good" states seem low tbh. i can only speak for oregon but literally all you need to do here is make an account with walgreens (requires an email address and 2 minutes), schedule an appointment, get your shot. you may have to drive 45 minutes in some direction but that seems like a pretty small ask. this is for metro areas but like 2/3 of the state lives in those places not sure how it works for uninsured people because i got mine through work
