Didn’t someone report that he and Plumlee are sitting the rest of the year or was that just dumb interneting
I'm really hoping that a lesson Weaver has learned from his first year as GM is that he can find guys like Frank Jackson and Wayne Ellington off the scrap heap and that he should never pay for fringe rotation guys. Most GMs never learn that, and especially ours over the years. But that would be a nice result. Frank Jackson has been really good for over a month now.
I was very negative about Casey being the guy for this rebuild but he’s actually been really good for these kids. My apologies Dwayne.
And not just for the tank. He's a RFA and we'd probably prefer he didn't tempt someone to give him an offer sheet this summer.
If Weaver's past is any indication, you'll be seeing a new version of Diallo every year in the draft.
Sometimes the other team just plays worse 1st overall pick odds aren't that different if you're in the bottom 4-5. I'm very worried about our floor landing us out of the top 5, though. That would be a disaster.
Tied for second worst, and within 1 win of dropping out of top 5 worst Game against Minnesota going to be must lose
From Edwards today... “What’s your best guess of what Troy’s big board looks like through 8?” — @RyanLaprade This is subject to change, especially once the regular season ends and I REALLY dive in, but here’s what I’ll go with right now: Cade Cunningham Evan Mobley Jalen Green Jalen Suggs James Bouknight Jonathan Kuminga Moses Moody Keon Johnson My gut tells me that if the Pistons are selecting and both Cunningham and Mobley are off the board, Green is the pick. Additionally, if Detroit somehow ends up picking No. 5 or later, I could see them selecting Bouknight or moving back to select Bouknight. The Pistons need bucket-getters to add to their core. Green and Bouknight are two of the premier shot-makers in this class.
Bouknight at 5 would be insane based on how people have them now, but I could see him being in the mix based on what Weaver likes. I'd take Moody at 6 or 7 if we were stuck there, but would be kind of shocked if Weaver did. He's the opposite of what Weaver seems to value.
"Bucket getter" is among my new least favorite sports buzzphrases. Right up there with football receivers who "play above the rim."
outside of Bouknight that list is just a c/p of everyone's draft board, Edwards doesn't really know anything Bouknight is probably just a huge guess on his part
