I really wish this entire family had been the ones in a helicopter that day instead of Kobe and those folks.
I don’t think there’s a dildo post on this board where I don’t get tagged at least once quite the reputation I’ve developed :smughog:
Throwing the whopper was the lifetime accumulation of anger of this miserable bitch hating her own last name.
I get the point of these posts and I even agree with them, but honestly I do think we are better off if we can have policy arguments instead of arguing if we should remain a liberal democracy. But then again, I’m a liberal.
The post is venting about the fact that our press continues to fail to tell the story accurately and properly diagnose the current situation imo. It has nothing to say about whether we would or would not be better off debating Cheney vs Cruz vs whoever, really.
There’s a fundamental core argument there that there is no difference between what Cheney offers from the rest of the GOP. She’s absolutely horrific but there’s a key difference between her an her colleagues. And that difference shouldn’t be diminished. I think it’s very important philosophically. But, as I said before, I’m a liberal. I’m predisposed to thinking liberalism is a good thing.
Why's she gotta bring the '80 Olympic Hockey team into this? Name another American miracle. You can't.
Obviously I agree with all of that, but the tweet itself isn't making a comment on the validity - sorry, the merit - of Cheyney vs other would be GOP leaders, it's hammering the point that the media still can't appreciate the true quality (as in make-up) of anybody (would-be GOP leaders) who might have a place in the discussion in the first place.
And as I said, I think Cheney’s point is a valid one and it’s fair for the media to get the message out that “democracy = good” and “Trumpism is anti-democratic”. What they do beyond that is annoying as all hell but I find merit in the press giving a platform to a member of the party working to end American democracy so she can work to convince her peers to allow it to continue. 1) I doubt she’d be successful and 2) if she was, the press would let her get away with so much abhorrent bullshit. I just think it’s pointless to bring that up instead of engaging in the discussion about saving democracy.
In our hearts, we are dismissive, racist pieces of shit, but if we just keep our mouths shut, we can let half way Democrats talk loud while not changing anything at all, then take over in four years when they push liberal social ideals but balk at taxing the mega rich to fund the issues that plague America
Waaaaaaaaaaaay behind, but friendly reminder to remove the use of "illegal" as an adjective, but especially as a noun, in this context.
Please stop insulting yourself by calling yourself a liberal. You’re not filthy lib scum. You’re a leftist good sir
