It's also because you're going to, personally, be blindsided by people you may love or respect making these absolutely awful arguments, and you want to be prepared for it instead of being flatly stupefied by it. My mom still sometimes operates on Fox News bullshit she heard months ago. She told me today kids dont get covid.
Yep. That BobbyLewis guy on Twitter does a service by showing ppl the insanity that's peddled over on Fox.
First thought is it seems very irresponsible to just spit out some “VAERS stats” without any real understanding of the data... perhaps there was further explanation in that episode? The tweet is just a tiny clip. I hope Fox News isn’t seriously just putting out “thousands are dying from the vaccine... so... um... good luck!”
Indonesia airport scammers reused Covid nasal swab tests on passengers, police say https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...e-nasal-swabs-coronavirus-intl-hnk/index.html
I don't know anything about VAERS, but a buddy of mine runs a nursing facility. Pre-covid, he would often refer to pneumonia often as a nursing home patient's best friend. Most of these people are in really bad shape and at the end of life. Everyone there gets the Covid Vaccine. So you've got hundreds of thousands of people across the country who are at the end of their lives getting vaccinated and many of those die. Did the vaccine truly kill them? Highly doubful. In some ways, it's similar to how some of the covid deaths were tracked due to financial reimbursement. I can't believe that 3000+ people have actually died from the vaccine.
He's referring to this meme https://www.factcheck.org/2020/04/hospital-payments-and-the-covid-19-death-count/
It also assumes doctors/pathologists give a shit about how the hospital gets reimbursed AND are willing to commit Medicare fraud to benefit the hospital, which is hilarious if you've ever met a doctor who worked at a hospital.
And it would have to be done on such a grand scale to even be noteworthy with all these people involved
I'm saying that several patients of his facility obviously died after receiving the covid vaccine because they were already about to die, unfortunately. I can guarantee you that some of their redneck 60 year old kids blamed the vaccine, when there's no way that actually contributed to their death. So you've got hundreds of thousands of elderly people, many of whom are at the end life, receiving the vaccine all at the same time...There may be a ton of claims on VAERS or whatever saying my daddy died of the covid vaccine.
I'm old enough to remember Camille Paglia ripping Naomi a new one over her lack of scholarship in writing The Beauty Myth
• Provide an incentive to a person if the person requires or uses a COVID-19 vaccination passport COVID-19 vaccination passport would mean written or electronic documentation for the purposes of certifying that an individual has received a vaccination for or is immunized against COVID-19. A person who violated the new act could be ordered to pay a civil fine of up to $1,000 for each violation. The attorney general or the prosecutor for the county in which the violation occurred could prosecute a violation https://www.statnews.com/2021/05/06...ovid-death-toll-is-double-official-estimates/ Death toll globally may be double the reported number Nepal on fire now too
Maybe some places. We set an expiration date of 5/28 for indoor masks in MN despite a 1500 cases/day, 400 hospitalized pt plateau that seems to be going nowhere
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2104974?query=featured_home Effectiveness of the BNT162b2 Covid-19 Vaccine against the B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 Variants The estimated effectiveness of the vaccine against any documented infection with the B.1.1.7 variant was 89.5% (95% confidence interval [CI], 85.9 to 92.3) at 14 or more days after the second dose (Table 1 and Table S2). The effectiveness against any documented infection with the B.1.351 variant was 75.0% (95% CI, 70.5 to 78.9). Vaccine effectiveness against severe, critical, or fatal disease due to infection with any SARS-CoV-2 (with the B.1.1.7 and B.1.351 variants being predominant within Qatar) was very high, at 97.4% (95% CI, 92.2 to 99.5). Woooo!!! Novovax trial results https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2103055 Efficacy of NVX-CoV2373 Covid-19 Vaccine against the B.1.351 Variant RESULTS Of 6324 participants who underwent screening, 4387 received at least one injection of vaccine or placebo. Approximately 30% of the participants were seropositive for SARS-CoV-2 at baseline. Among 2684 baseline seronegative participants (94% HIV-negative and 6% HIV-positive), predominantly mild-to-moderate Covid-19 developed in 15 participants in the vaccine group and in 29 in the placebo group (vaccine efficacy, 49.4%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 6.1 to 72.8). Vaccine efficacy among HIV-negative participants was 60.1% (95% CI, 19.9 to 80.1). Of 41 sequenced isolates, 38 (92.7%) were the B.1.351 variant. Post hoc vaccine efficacy against B.1.351 was 51.0% (95% CI, −0.6 to 76.2) among the HIV-negative participants. Preliminary local and systemic reactogenicity events were more common in the vaccine group; serious adverse events were rare in both groups. The percents look decent as far as vaccines go but the confidence intervals are horrifying
Well yeah in context of the other covid vaccines, but it's line with stuff like the flu vaccine, no? Governments will prob end up buying it for some populations, like people who've already had mild covid
You could've made a nice chunk of change had you grabbed it when it fell to 147 today. Got back to 160 before close
Who are our canadians? Are there really Alberta anti-mask freaks who caught covid going around intentionally infecting ppl?
So I’m started to see a new social media talking point. “Red states have lower Covid numbers, lower hospitalizations, etc despite less vaccination and looser restrictions. So why would anyone emulate the blue states who seem to be losing” I don’t feel like researching this or where it came from, but I’m guessing this Snapple “real fact” isn’t true.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tampabay.com/news/health/2020/04/29/florida-medical-examiners-were-releasing-coronavirus-death-data-the-state-made-them-stop/?outputType=amp Also stopped publicizing most data, including to epidemiologists at great universities like FSU, UCF, Miami, and i guess UF. All state death info gets collected at hospitals, kept private, then sent to the state who does who-knows-what with it, and then the state publicizes whatever those results are. Even with the scrubbing, its garbage, but national media seems all to happy to pretend Desantis is competent. Before, the hospitals would publicly update directly iirc. https://www.pnj.com/story/news/2020...a-florida-nursing-home-most-covid/3044993001/ I still have no idea what his "covid strike teams" did except take tests and take bad cases to the hospitals and then, like, leave.
I have a hypothesis to this as I’m from MS. We are at around 200-250 case a day. Now most all people are outdoors and not indoors. The more conservative people tend to life rural and blue collar putting them away from the office. A lot of people in metro areas tend to be more educated and not opposed to vaccines. So you have a lot of people in offices getting the shot. And most grocery stores and Walmart’s, our main shopping points still require mask. I will add that there’s still a lot of hesitation in the African American community which makes up 40 percent of our state. That’s the big push right now and something that’s trying to be addressed and solved.
We did this a year ago. Northeast and midwest are inside during February, March, April, South and Southeast are inside during June, July, August.
Remember when Scott Atlas, Rand Paul, Ben Shapiro and Gottlieb were all enthusiastically yelling constantly about how we should all be gunning for herd immunity, BEFORE the vaccines were available for the public? Like they wanted us to feed people to covid as a policy decision without any vaccines.
"Hey guys the best way to combat this is to get more people sick and effectively not do anything about it "
