    3. When you say climate control are we talking a dry a/c environment? Are you thinking days, weeks, or longer?

    And thanks.

It would need to be in a climate controlled area inside your house. Typically there is an acclimation period of about 72 hours. Meaning it would need to be sitting in the area where it’s going to be installed for at least 72 hours prior to installing. Given that this particular flooring has been sitting in a shed for 40 years, I’d probably give it a few more days at least.

Not having the milling on the ends could be a little problematic, though a good install and finishing ought to take care of most of that. And yes indoors for as long as you can deal with it before installing. A week isn't a bad idea. The more you can spread it out, the faster it will acclimate. If it's a pile, turn pieces crossways to create airspace. Small fan can help.

Pulled the trigger on a roof-mounted Sunsetter retractable awning. It is motorized with a wind sensor to auto retract and has LED lights and a drop down shade on the end since out back patio faces SW. Also has the Sunbrella UV fabric on it.

Not what I wanted but a nice stop gap to get our patio usable in the Texas summer. Hopefully in 2-3 years I will address it with something more permanent. At least this will cool the wife’s jets for awhile.

Not my house in these pictures but this is what it looks like. It is a combo of the color of one with the drop down that is shown on the other. Install date on the 20th and I am excite.

I THINK the issue with our dishwasher is that the top spinner jets either don't work or work inadequately, after checking 90000 things.

should have just bought a new dishwasher a month ago. assume i'll go Bosch 500 or 800 but taking board recs.

I can not recommend the Fisher Paykel enough. 2 separate drawers (1 larger, 1 smaller) which means that you can wash a little bit at a time and not have wasted space in the machine. It has been a game changer and quality is top notch. We have had 0 issues with our range, frig, & washer since buying 3 years ago.

Also super clean if you are into that type of thing.

We experience droughts here almost every year. I have enough to worry about keeping the grass green and soil from cracking severely without a tree sucking up all available moisture.

I am not worried about drought resistant. My wife wants shade in 2 months and I do not care to add any more to yard maintenance than I already have. I am actually on the verge of a 75% zeroscape.

Installed one of those 10-15 years ago, still working to this day. Was a pain in the ass and took 3 of us to get it up. Also had to disable the wind sensor because it always kept closing the thing with the slightest breeze, but hopefully they’ve fixed that. Solid investment otherwise though.

Power company never owned up to it, but in the last place I lived, when they replaced the guts of the meter base with one that was remotely readable, the new part caught on fire. Made for a somewhat exciting morning on our end. Luckily I was getting up.. it cooked one leg,, so the lights were still working,, having welded that side together, even after the meter had fallen off into the yard. Have also heard about a power company employee that tried to install a new meter without having it lined up and was knocked down/back/over when it made contact.

Will put this in here because my pool is not snobby…..went to open my pool today only to find out the gfi I plug the pump in is dead. Apparently a colony of ants decided it would make a good home and moved right in. After the ant genocide and replacement of two receptacles my pump is working.

this happens in addition to meter sometimes blowing up. Many place require face shields when installing a meter now.

I had planned last year to replace the liner this year. In November the big pool store said call us in January and we will get you scheduled. In January they said liners are back ordered until September unless you are buying a whole new pool.

I love ants man, they are a great source of income. They fry GFCIs, mechanical timer mechanisms, even full computer automation systems.

Always treat under your electrical components in your yard for ants, especially during a prolonged period of no rain. Rain comes and they move up for dryness, and then find electrical boxes are not only dry but also warm and they will nest there. Then you will be batting cleanup.

My little 8’ x 10’ shed just became a little more badass. Should have electrical ran in about 3 weeks so lights, outlets and a portable ac on standby.

Craftsman seemed to offer the best value when shopping around. I do not own a single tool of theirs but their boxes be legit.

My dad has been renovating his place over the past couple of years. It was in pretty bad shape when he bought it. I helped him demo everything. Took the whole house down to the framing in the inside. Even took out all studs so he could reconfigure everything. We put in a whole new subfloor and framed up and drywalled his bathroom and master bedroom. But that’s as far as my help went because I had to go back to Atlanta. He was able to finish up those two rooms but hasn’t done anything else because of health issues. It’s gotten pretty bad for him so my oldest nephew (18) is going to move in with him. Problem is there still wasn’t a bedroom for my nephew. So I flew do to Jacksonville today to see how far I could get. Got it framed up, drywall on and mudded, flooring down and all electrical done in 12 hours. Flying back home to Atlanta in 5 hours. Completely exhausted.

Sister is going over tomorrow to sand and paint. So in roughly 36 hours it’ll go from a wide open space to a completely finished bedroom.

Gonna try to find another weekend soon to come down to install a kitchen and finish the living room.
