I know it says estimate, but I recall hearing as the negotiations going into this season were going on that Lewis brought in 50 million from Mercedes last year. It could be similar to a college football coach, where the base salary isn’t the full extent of the money paid to the driver.
It doesn't matter if he doesn't get points though. Showing talent does nothing for Williams if he doesn't find a way to get points. Mazepin provides more value this far.
still blows my mind that they can control all of the mappings and stuff while going all out or battling for position.
I’m a new fan of the sport, what’s up. Been binging CY on YouTube to try and fill in history and recent storylines. Won’t be up early enough to see FP sessions tomorrow but Tottenham playing at 4:30am on Saturday means I can tune in to Qualifying comfortably. What does one pay attention to from Monday-Thursday typically?
We talk about random shit like best drivers in F1 lol... Friday to Sunday is when the action is for F1. FP1, FP2 on Fridays, FP3 and Q on Saturday and the race on sundays.
Nice nice nice. I did revisit the last few pages before posting so I did catch that. Is there a recognized good site/outlet for news or analysis and which to avoid (think The Sun for EPL)? I’ve only started consuming content from CYMotorsport on YouTube to this point.
Formula1.com tons of articles, tech vids, podcasts. Probably the best content of a Professional "League" out there
The Race - they do good podcasts and their writes are good Twitter follows The Beyond the Grid Podcast is good to get to know all of the people. It's always just a one-on-one interview with prominent people in the sport.
Practice data always has to be taken with a grain of salt but Alpine putting up P4 and P5 in Q2 is pretty impressive. Appears their gains last week were real and not just track dependent.
It's going to take me a season to pick out my favorite driver(s), I think. Verstappen gets my default interest just because of the best chance to disrupt the dynasty.
Just a quick question regardless of the teams who do you all think is the best driver? My answer would probably Hamilton or the Red Bull guy
Best driver is Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen second and then a bit of a gap to Leclerc. Although, with the way Lando has been driving he’s seriously challenging Leclerc imo.
Not quite sure how I missed this, especially as she must have been shown on the show. He's very cunty, but it's the act when you're #2. Another plug for people to read Adrian Newey's book. They've (AN & CH) been together long enough that I confuse them, but the two of them were definitely combo #1 before Toto came along. Fascinating people that can manipulate things well. Of course, Bernie was that way, too, and ran the kingdom for decades, so F1 is very susceptible to this sort of persona running things.
There's an episode in Drive to Survive (season 2 I think) that shows him at home with her and their combined family, then the two of them get on a helicopter that takes her to perform at a Spice Girls concert. She's also shown on zoom in season 3 I believe
Russell's principal said they used up all of their quali tires. So that means you get one set of each soft/med/hard and no more than that, right? Interesting.
I suppose not. And which tires must they start with tomorrow, whatever tires they finish q3 with or whatever tires from their fastest q3 lap? And is it they have to run those exact tires or simply that exact compound?
Top 10 need to start the race on the set of tires they set their fastest lap on in Q2. Bottom 10 get a free tire choice.
Ocon was impressive again. Yuki is about to talk himself out of a seat. He needs to shut up. Imagine if Mazepin was acting the way he is right now.
Redbull brain trust has dealt with Max. Yuki will be fine. Probably just needs to not shit on the car as much in public.
