Took me at least 20 tries. Hit the top of the wall a few times and if his speed was any faster I would have had an inside the park homer.
OMG I just hit one off the top of the wall where it’s 409 in center and the wall is like 10 feet higher than the rest.
How does one get all of the Topps Now cards? I know you get some from the TN moments but how about the rest?
I’m thinking I’ll have most of them through the TN moments and then the April program. Might need to buy like 2 to complete the collection.
Unless you sold one you get all of them by completing the moments and Buxton program (not including this week’s new ones)
Yeah I’m thinking I sold a couple along the way now that I’m looking at the list. Won’t matter if I can’t get Moniak to hit a ball out of the infield.
Yea there's a ton of missions where you have to things with TN guys. I guess I'll have to play with the ones I have.
Correct, this is why Conquest can be tolerable. Easy way to knock the dumb shit out and work toward the players/programs/dailies.
DBL, don't forget you can also do missions for 42 players as well in TA. My entire lineup and pitching staff are loaded up to get points all over the place. Also, wish I would not have blew my wad so fast on the Events. Still going through May 17th or something.
I started with the moments knocked those out pretty quick which gave me a few TN guys. Then I just knocked those missions out plus the POTM guys missions. Unlocked more POTM cards and repeat.
You don’t need specific TN players to complete the Buxton moments (there are specific missions for the POTM guys you unlock part of the way through). If you do all the moments, I think you can skip two of the player-specific missions. When you get down to just needing XBH from Turner or Solak or HRs from Ohtani or whoever, just play the CPU at Coors and quit after their first AB until you get the stats you need.
Finally hit a HR with Moniak and I was watching a video on my phone looked up and hit X last second and it goes out hahaha didn’t even have my hand on the controller. Of course.
I ended up needing one TN card, putting in an order on Honeywell for like 6.5K stubs. I think that will get me to Buxton though so definitely worth it.
That was much easier imo. 70 power vs the lefty. Went HR, line drive out, single on first try. Moniak was a pain in the ass for me.
The Vlad one to get 8 total bases was a bitch too. He's 102/102 vs RHP but of course you face Lester and he's only 82/75 vs LHP. Eventually decided to power swing like I did with Davis and that got it done pretty quick. Guess I'll start doing that with anyone under like 85-90 power.
Oh cool, disconnected up 2-0 in the 8th. Routine Maintence Ain’t nothing routine about maintence on a Saturday at 745
Still working towards getting the Kitchen Sink archetype upgrade for my SP. once I get that I’ll have 99Vel 92Ctl and 75brk. Will easily be hitting 101 or whatever the max speed is. 6’10 with what Reddit says is the Randy Johnson windup. Should be pretty nasty
your main perk decides your primary position. it gives big boosts to base stats that correlate; ie - the only real SP one does stamina, velocity, control and break you do a missions/moments thing using your player to upgrade to the level 2 and 3 main perks. there's 2 lvl2 and 2 lvl3 options and each level up those base attributes get much bigger boosts and have more focus on 2 of Vel/Ctl/Brk that are real high and the 3rd is lower you can also equip 2 side perks that are mostly have a boost in 1 of the 3 main categories. those come in packs or marketplace. they gave away a diamond in the We're Sorry Bundle which was nice. But the combo of upgrades from your main perk + 2 sides is the bulk of what your attributes end up looking like. A lot of categories also have a 20 point upgrade system you get from doing things in RTTS. They all start at 30 and max out at 50. For pitchers it's all the k/9, h/9 etc + each of your pitches has individual 30-50 rating for velocity, control and break. Also have these for batting and fielding attributes but I don't check those. All these get upgraded by doing literally anything in the RTTS games - throwing a strike, get an out, field a ball, etc. They also can get upgraded 1-2 points a time in the Training you can do every ~4 games. some are little button games some just select it. You can also get attribute upgrades from wearable shit. That's mostly batting though. The trick is that you can fast-track upgrading every 20point attribute boost from the training. You have to "play" your appearances to get the training opportunities (instead of just simming the game from the calendar) screen / skipping the game. You enter and then click "sim to end of game" and you're back out of the game in ~45sec. Some of your 20pt attributes get boosted from the Sim and you get training opps which just upgrade you real fast. People I know playing up in legendary ranked games see juiced up players on every roster what I've been told
Once I get the Kitchen Sink and hopefully another diamond control secondary perk I'll probably be a 95-96ovr that has better hitting than the majority of SPs. You can get up to 50 on contact, power, and speed through the upgrades which isn't awful.
How long does it take to go from from 30 to 50 in your main categories? And once you get to 50, you just have to get the diamond equipment to be elite right?
Not mad sad and indifferent but this is how guys got the boss so quickly. Not in the manner he is talking about, but this process in conjunction with simming games is how people got the boss so quick. It's this process, the archetype, then simming on minor league level for XP is how it's done.
Really not that long. Play on rookie and dominate in gameplay. You get a ton of XP towards the inning and the 30>50 categories would be maybe 1.5 seasons for a SP. Which isn’t bad pitching a game takes ~12min and each game gets you around 7K XP in the minors and 5-6k in the bigs. the 3rd tier main archetype gets you the rest which would also be done in that 1.5 season time frame.
I'm probably 5 hours into this switch hitting SS and this is where I am so far. Already have diamond gear so now I just have to keep grinding it. Way easier with the sim but man it's boring. Just did it while watching the Yankee game. Only silver right now so only 2 perks. Have to diamond for another 2. And I'm already 42 out of 50 in both contact but only mid 30s in power. That comes slow. So I have 2 power perks on to help there for now. When done, probably another 5 hours, he'll be about 123/120 vs lefty and righty with high 80s or maybe 90 defense.
It's pretty cool bc the gear allows you to make what you want. You can go with one that gives you +8 power but -4 contact or one that goes +6 power but only -2 contact, stuff like that. They all + and - and you just add it up to what you want. Like right now I could change gear and be 115 power and like 80 power.
