I was thinking about this earlier. I know it differs by state, but the maximum amount you can get from unemployment in Indiana is $335/wk. Adding in the $300 from the stimulus, you are looking at $635/wk BEFORE YOU TAX IT (if you don’t tax it now you tax it on your 2022 returns). Even at the low side of 25% you are looking at making $11.90/hr from unemployment. That’s $475 a week Or $24675/year and people are upset some people are trying to live on that short term. I know this isn’t necessarily what your point was but I needed to vent.
You see, the problem is that the $475 per week is more than the minimum wage and because of that people are not willing to be exploited, rather than increasing wages it’s better for businesses to buy politicians to force people back to being exploited. The funny thing is that these were the people that were being called heroes during the height of the pandemic, but now that there’s a vaccine they’re back to being pawns.
If you’re in the mood to see Junior just get repeatedly dunked on, then boy do I have a tweet for you. For once, read the replies
Where are you getting 25%? If you are saying it is the tax rate that is not close. When did we start discussing wages after taxes as the hourly rate? $635 a week is over $15 an hour. Outrage is good but be honest in the outrage. It takes away from the point when being disingenuous. All that said people are not sitting home collecting unemployment instead of working. That is also a disingenuous argument.
I’m basing it off of what I was paid when I had to collect unemployment. It was 20-25% taken out of every payment I received. You could get the full amount untaxed but it was fully taxable income on next years taxes. Maybe I am wrong and I just didn’t understand what I was getting taxed. I’m probably lying for reasons I guess
I believe unemployment is normally taxed as income, but recent legislation made a good portion of the covid unemployment tax free. So you probably did have some decent withholding when receiving your benefits. But 25% still seems high.
It is taxed as ordinary income without SS or Medicare. ARP had an exclusion for the first 10K for people with agi under 150K. Even without an income at 33k would be taxed at 12% at the highest rate with no other income. Regardless of your circumstance stating hourly wages after taxes is disingenuous.
I'm sure someone has helped you out, but the Nazis didn't invent the swastika. It's about 12000 years old.
Well, the logo is the least problematic thing about Falun Gong. But sure, whomever that guy is, that's me.
Swastikas are an important symbol in Hinduism. Go to any Hindu temple or ceremony today and you’ll see them prominently displayed.
So much analysis on how we are ended up with Trump and it really is as simple as he was the most openly racist candidate and we have a ton of racists in the country.
You should check out the interview on the latest Magary/Roth pod with this guy who just wrote a book about capital investment in gaming. It’ll make you hate it even more.

sometimes my family will swastikas sorta painted on the ground outside the door for auspicious occasions. Nothing that noticeable. Once had a neighbor come up to us and was worried someone vandalized our porch haha. We also usually have the swastikas with dots around the center in the grooves.
