That open wheel shit? I was buying that stuff in the 90's without even knowing any of the drivers. I did pull two autos, one guy I can't remember but the other guys name was Robert Guererro or something like that.
Curiosity got the best of me, pulled them out and it's Roberto Guerrero and Buddy Lazier. Set was 1991 PPG Indy Car, autos were like one a case.
I think my favorite oddball set to open and look for autos back in the day was the 1990 Kingpins set where autos were one a case. First one I pulled was Earl Anthony.
Yea the open wheel racing. Topps released the first ever Formula one set this year(Topps Chrome) and last week dropped the Sapphire set.
I'm interested, is there somewhere I can find a checklist and see what auto sets are in it? I checked cardboard connections and it didn't have dick for info.
They've been tough to pack from what I've seen so far. And the top ones are pricy as hell Spoiler Autographs Checklist 52 cards. 1:64 packs. I’ve also seen people making post on Facebook of looking for or wanting to buy certain players and then guys show up and post pictures of other options and when people ask how much they want they just reply , not for sale. Then why the fuck post it? Just to brag?
I don't know who this player is but I'm not exactly Mr Hockey either. I checked the history of all Jack Eichel cards sold and the highest in history was $6,999 and it was for a lot of 57 Young Guns cards all with high BGS grades. The highest 1 of 1 sold I could find was a patch auto rookie and it sold for $2,750 last year. Anyway, these are the type of people that annoy me. I don't want anyone thinking I'm ragging on sellers that have their stuff listed slightly over market value. This idiot above has 22 listings, 5 of which are listed for a total of 34 million US.
I bought an 20-21 Upper Deck hockey series 2 young guns from Walmart just to rip something. Cost $40 and got a Tim Stutzle young guns that shows going for about $60+ on Ebay after some research since I don't follow hockey
I got two. One sold for $38 and one was sent to BGS economy so I’ll see it in a few years. edit: I was mistaken. It sold for $60
anyone interested in any nfl select cards. I have a good amount that I want to move to help ease the hit of the other 6 blasters I bought this weekend.
Psa claims they are now done with express through March 4th....my FOUR card order on February 25th is still in the grading section after being there over a month now
I'm very impatient lol. Also awaiting to see how much I get upcharged. I put value for one card the value of a 9 at the time thinking it was going to be a 9, and if it came back a 10 id gladly take the up charge. But now a 9 of that card sells for $1800. A 10 and I'm looking at $6k...
PSA decides if/when they want to upcharge to a higher service level based on the grade the card receives. In the "declared item value" it used to be what the card is worth raw. Now they want you to guess what it'll be worth if it grades as well as you think it will. It makes zero sense as the value of the card should be what it is worth raw so that's how I always label them. They've upcharged on two orders of mine and let it slide on several others. Maybe under new ownership they'll have more concrete rules but in my experience they have been very inconsistent on when they decide to do upcharges
They price their grading levels at card value graded. I sent a LeBron rookie in I've had since I was in High School. When I sent it in a psa 9 sold for about $950. The level I submitted it under caps at $1000. So if psa gives me a 10 on the card they will upcharge me most likely to pay the higher service level because the card I submitted is worth more than the upper limit at service level i used. The annoying part now is I may get upcharged on a 9 as well because 9s are now selling for $1800 so they may say my valuation was too low. Although I won't complain too much about a psa 9 or 10 lebron rookie card
Actually 2 of the 4 in my express order are LeBron rookies. The more valuable one is the Topps collection (the topps rookie card but the complete set version where he is playing in a summer league game instead of holding the jersey) and the other one is the Upper Deck MVP one.
I have a friend who i was texting about how much lebron rookies are now and he said he remembered buying a lot of basketball cards that year, he went back to his parents house and found he had 12 of the regular topps rookies sitting in his parents basement....
I am expecting/hoping a 9 on the topps one. Centering looks good and no visible issues and has been in a top loader since I got it. Think 10 is possible but I have no grading experience to rely on. The Upper Deck MVP is flawless...really hoping a 10 on it
Just had a client ask me about getting pokemon cards authenticated. Apparently this guy has multiple sets of 1st editions and got an unofficial estimate of millions of dollars. Anyone got a direct line to an authenticator/grader that can do an in person evaluation?
Bought a couple despite not thinking this is a great year for Bowman. Just don't feel like waiting in lines and seeking out retail prices for stuff anymore
Appears that Bowman blasters resale on ebay for $50, so that's a pretty decent price to rip a few boxes
In the past I would have said yes but with how expensive it is to grade now I'm not so sure. I'd compare raw vs. 9 prices to determine whether it is worth it. Usually it isn't.
topps is horseshit. is absolutely not labled as sold out but when i try to add to cart it's "unavailable" what a crock of shit
There's zero consistency in my experience, and it's usually very shitty on big drop days. Last week when Sapphire F1 was supposed to be dropped it showed up for ~1min, then appeared sold out, then was dropped from the site.
Panini getting ready to release a Score hobby box for NFL. First release with the new rookies they say. Is Score any good?
Rookies will be in their college jerseys and won't have the team they were drafted to represented in the card.
