I'm really tempted by the new Moonwatch, partially because that bracelet looks great unlike the old one. It seems like a smart investment because the Moonwatch never goes out of style and it will be an iconic timepiece forever. I'm a little wary of the 42mm but I need to check on the lug to lug. Omega is charging $850 for sapphire over hesalite?
Holy shit, the 214270 is now selling on the grey market for $12,500, I bought mine with box and papers like 3 months ago for $8,700.
Got my Oris in today and love it. Appreciate Jorts for the AD recommendation. I feel like a proper watch cunt now. Cheap cunt, but a cunt nonetheless.
Anyone have any experience with an online company/broker to sell watches? I basically never wear a watch anymore (broke my wrist pretty badly - pretty miserable to wear one these days) so they may as well be paperweights now.
Rolex Datejust 41 mm - black bezel with diamond dial. Barely ever wore it. Other one is an AP but was a gift from someone I see pretty frequently so it would be a massive dick move to sell it. Though I would much rather have the cash than a watch I don't ever wear.
the Rolex. Bob's watches. They are a online retailer out of Newport Beach. The AP, Timepiece Gentlemen in Dallas. They are a greymarket dealer in Dallas
Royal Oak chronograph - 41 mm - black dial. As mentioned, I'm probably stuck not being able to sell it so I guess I'm just going to have to treat it as a piece of art on the wall.
Holy fuck. This isn’t a chronograph. Isn’t this like a $200k+ watch? https://www.chrono24.com/audemarspi...rose-gold-double-balance-wheel--id9442715.htm
Different watches - the one I was considering selling is the Royal Oak chronograph. This one I'm not selling.
Maybe I’m colorblind, but isn’t that a blue dial? I don’t like the AP redesign of the new chronos, with the exception of maybe the panda. I’m a bigger fan of the old design.
I would say it looks different in person but realistically yea it’s probably a blue dial. Also due to it being a gift I don’t have all the paperwork/box etc so it’s borderline impossible that I’ll ever be able to get those without completely telegraphing my intent to sell. Lol
The AP blue is super dark and nearly black in the right light, but they make an actual black chrono. Looks like yours is blue from that pic. I’m sure you could sell it, but no box or papers will come with a decent discount.
I likely know less about watches than anyone else in this thread - but AP will give you a verification cert if you bring it in and let them test it. Zero idea how that process works - this is entirely second hand knowledge that I will have to rely on soon.
Ah nice. That’s a good option. You could be worse off. I accidentally left a royal oak in a bar once and never got it back. Reported the serial number to AP, so I’m waiting for a call 10 years from now that the thief sent it in for repair ha. Luckily had insurance.
PM me - the head of AP is a friend. Seriously. I only require that you tell my how you left an AP at a bar. lol
Tough but fair. I still can confirm I know the least about watches of anyone in this thread. Friend is a reach - he's a good friend of one of my friends so I've hung out with him several times. Whatever that would quantify as.
Yeah I thought I wanted a 36mm until I tried one on and it looked tiny. Always thought I had small ass wrists too.
I’m going 41 and I’m leaning towards the green. From the videos I’ve seen, it looks better/darker than the pics on the Rolex site.
