Atlanta had Ozuna at third with one out in B10 and then bases loaded with one out and got nothing. Incredible 3-3 to the 11th. I really miss real extra-innings games man. Knowing that I could be sitting here watching a game an hour from now was such a nice feeling
coming into tonight, Pache had a 3.8% walk rate and a 42.3% strikeout rate. He has a K tonight and no walks. On pitches outside the zone he is swinging 44.2% of the time and so far the league average is 30.7% that's in 17 games at age 22. it's very early so maybe he's just working through some things in his approach but maybe it would be better to let him (try to) fix those things in the minors before his confidence takes a major hit
Dodgers were up 13-0 after T5 and Kershaw finished up 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 SO/1 BB on 71 pitches. Then in B6 Dennis Santana gives up 4 ER while getting 1 out Jacob Webb with a brutal defensive sequence on the mound for Atlanta in T12. Has a bad throw to home that gets away from Contreras and then fails to cover home and allows another run to score in the process. Phillies get a 6-4 lead thanks to those miscues. Throw probably should have been caught by the C after a replay, I dunno
HOLY SHIT Jose Rojas with a 3-run, 2-out HR in B7 to cut the LAD lead to 14-11. What on earth. LAA offense is just scorching hot since Kershaw left ha it was 13-0
unwritten rule alert how dare the rookie trying to stay on the big club do anything that would help him take advantage of his opportunity
So in the game they nearly came back from 13 down, they shouldn’t have tried to get on base when they were down 13? Or am I reading that incorrectly?
He was hacking at pitches late and extending his arms so hed hit McCanns mitt as he tried to catch the pitch and forced a catchers interference. TWICE. Then he missed strike 3 on his next AB and acted like he caught the tip of the bat. So if anyone on the field was going to try to get away with something it would be him.
I was pretty banged up last night and I lost my phone in my house. Battery died too so it was a pretty large and extensive investigation this morning to find it. Regardless, I was oblivious to the fact that the Phils were in extras so I had this game on and watched the entire inning. When Rojas hit that the Dodgers announcer said, "This is ridiculous!" in the most disgusted voice. I was absolutely rolling.
The White Sox are starting career infielders at all three outfield positions today: Vaughn LF, Garcia CF, and Mendick RF All (4) of the projected White Sox opening day outfielders are now hurt: Eloy, Robert, Engel, and Eaton Not great
I don't get this Hayes injury. How are you out for 60+ days when you get hit on the wrist but it was never broken (at least according to every report I've seen)? I've got him in fantasy and the whole things has seemed very bizarre.
by all accounts the two teams talked and the White Sox balked- Sox are going to watch their AAA players first. All four injured Sox outfielders should be back this season so I think the Sox won't make a trade Also the AL Central is doo doo and the White Sox might just start pulling away cuz their pitching is stellar
Speaking of horribly run organizations, episode 11 of chin music pod features a Rockies beat writer. He does a great job breaking down why they are horrible org.
i like watching bunts less than i like watching pitchers hit but heres a good one by a pitcher https://www.mlb.com/video/jacob-degrom-s-bunt-single
