Anyone heard or know anything the Flying Buffaloes? My dad is retired and helps a place in West Tennessee book bands in his spare time. He was asking about them.
I'm a drive by poster in this thread, but I thought a name like "Slappers, Bangers, and Certified Twangers" was what we're here to rail against. And Toby Keith cover albums
Sorry bout being weird in y’all’s thread. I get bored and have to check out ancillary threads sometimes
If someone put out a modern record of new music with that name, of course it'd be shamed. It also would suck. But 90's country is the last real great era of the genre before things split up into red dirt, Americana, alt-country, top-40, etc. All these covers are fucking jams.
jamey johnson w/ whiskey myers opener in Asheville might get me back outside. really want to see 49 winchester at the orange peel, but they’ve sold out one night and i close on my new house that week. :/
I randomly started listening to their new album a lot last spring when everything was shut down and got pretty into it. Although I will admit, I was rarely sober while doing so.
Zero desire to listen to those shitty covers. 90s country music probably kept me from experiencing a lot of good music over the years
I’ve been listening to whatever comes on the Southern Craft playlist on Apple Music. Keb Mo is def something I’d recommend. Blues-Country if you are into that sort of thing. Some of the stuff is def a miss though. Kind of pick and choose which I don’t normally like to do with an album.
Big fan of all 3 singles, so far. Pretty sure Faustina has been around for a while, but not sure about the other ones. John R Miller is so underrated.
I'd like to see them do something like... Blackhawk - Big Guitar Diamond Rio - Norma Jean Riley LeAnn Rimes - One Way Ticket Vince Gill - One More Last Chance Wynona Judd - No-one Else On Earth David Lee Murphy - Party Crowd Michael Peterson - Drink, Swear, Steal, and Lie Martina McBride - Independence Day Patty Loveless - Blame It On Your Heart Randy Travis - If I Didn't Have You
Alan Jackson - Don’t Rock The Jukebox Diamond Rio - Meet In The Middle David Lee Murphy - Dust On The Bottle Joe Diffie - Pickup Man Travis Tritt - T-R-O-U-B-L-E Shenandoah - Two Dozen Roses Reba - Fancy Keith Whitley - Don’t Close Your Eyes Martina McBride - Independence Day Brooks & Dunn - Neon Moon John Michael Montgomery - Be My Baby Tonight Clay Walker - This Woman and This Man Mark Chestnutt - Bubba Shot The Jukebox
I think they'd do a killer version of Rhett Akins That Ain't My Truck. Because that song fucks. Same goes for Dwight's Fast as You.
I put about 2 seconds into that list because if I actually tried to make a list with a lot of thought I would never finish because I’d keep rearranging
George Strait- Carrying your love with me Alan Jackson- Chasing that neon rainbow Mark Chesnutt- Too cold at home Tracy Lawrence- Is that a tear Tim McGraw- Indian outlaw John Anderson- Seminole Wind Dlm- Dust on the bottle Kenny Chesney- What I need to do Shania Twain- I feel like a woman Deanna Carter- Strawberry Wine Dixie Chicks- Goodbye Earl
And Speed from Montgomery Gentry even though that’s the 2000s cause that’s the greatest song ever made.
The only Chesney song that will be allowed in this thread is Back Where I Come From. Thank you all for your attention to this matter
just a list of some 90's songs i'd like to come back around Faith Hill - It Matters to Me Pam Tillis - Maybe it was Memphis Little Texas - There's a First Time for Everything Doug Stone - I'd Be Better Off (In a Pine Box) Mark Chesnutt - Going Through The Big D Tim McGraw - Living on Refried Dreams Lee Ann Womack - I May Hate Myself in the Morning, and A Little Past Littlerock
