Back in Black is one of the more remarkable things to happen in Rock & Roll history, imo. To have someone like Scott die suddenly, and then replace him with another guy, only to release one of the biggest albums in history 5 months later...

 

I absolutely hate Back in Black now. I've probably heard that song over 200 times between the radio, bars, and sporting events.

 

My hot take is that if it's good it's good.

If there's a band doing Louisiana swamp rock better than Creedence that's actually from Louisiana, point the way. Until then, I'll be listening to shit tons of Creedence because it's excellent.

I was in the car with my 16yo two weeks ago when Born To Run came on the radio so I gave him a bit of a history primer on Springsteen, and towards the end of the song he said "Wow this guy really can't sing"

I like Back in Black (I have the CD) but then again I like a few things that Van Hagar did too. Neither measures up to the original, tho

 

I know a little is a goddamn masterpiece. We were robbed of so many great songs.

 

I stop and listen every time I hear Tuesdays gone. Some of that is nostalgia for Happy Gilmore, but it’s a great song all the same
