Thank you. It is the rough plan I have had in my head since buying the place 7 years ago. An extremely mobile 10 month old is all it took for me to finally pull the trigger. He turf area is going to be a play area, wife already has a garden hose powered splash pad on order. The grass area by the shed will get a playset on it soon enough. Now to just train the dogs that the grass on the side of the house is their only toilet...
What’s the best place to buy kitchen cabinet hardware? This is for my office so I’m not looking for anything fancy.
No worries. It will have the proper drainage aggregate underneath it as well an irrigation zone specifically to keep it cleaned off.
Just write that your dick is short and the house at your preferred price will help improve your quality of life since you cod afford dick large surgery at 'x' low price. If necessary, I will write this letter at some point.
What is everyone's thoughts about home prices right now? Looking at a home that will probably need an offer of 40% more than it sold for in just 2015. Do you guys think these homes will retain the added value of the current market or are we looking at a crash in the next few years?
Not trying to be a dick but we had this conversation about 76 times now. No one here is in a position to answer that question. No one knows if it will crash and people and will cite indications all day long and say it won’t. We won’t personally know until it’s too late if it truly crashes.
I have somehow hit the home transaction lottery. Ours sellers called to ask us to delay our move-in or allow them to leave stuff in the house because their new build won't be ready by the time their 30 leaseback ends. And then our buyers just asked us to delay closing to a day that signifies good luck in their culture. What in the world, man
We have movers/cleaners/foundation folks scheduled already starting day 1, so that one couldn't be accommodated. Shooter's shoot and all, but I think I'd just get a pod
Jesus fucking Christ. Had something come up that the seller is willing to give us a credit for, about $6k in repairs. But we've already signed the documents and sent our money to the title company based on the sales price being $6k higher. Instead of just giving us OUR OWN FUCKING MONEY BACK there's a whole rigamarole that may delay closing because of this. Change the sales price and give us our fucking money back, this isn't hard.
Letter writing is amateur hour. I worked with a lady that made a video of her two daughters frolicking through the yard and the whole family sitting on the porch talking about how great the house is/how much they’d love to live there. She got the house, but I’ll be damned if I’m doing that.
Why is it amateur hour? The market in LA is literally logic defying insane & the 40 minutes I spent writing it may have helped me get a house. Is it a pride thing? Unfortunately nothing is normal anymore so I don't get why people don't just do everything possible to get what they want. Someone else will
Now we just need home sellers to release buyer selection videos styled after college football recruiting selection videos
Gender reveal videos, but for buyer selection. Simultaneous cameras on all of the prospective buyers so we can see who didn't write the letter
we didn't do it because of the market we were buying in at but team you can laugh at my letter while i live in your dream house biiiittttcchhh
I was being a smartass about my coworker taking it to the next level and making a video. My wife and I wrote a letter for a house we didn’t get in Atlanta. Been there, done that, would cringe and do it again. But I draw the line at making a video.
Yeah the video seems a bit of a stretch. The letter writing thing just seems like a given to me, as you would write a cover letter for a job application
Let’s go all in and have our offers revealed in segments throughout a live variety show performed by our kids in front of the seller.
We wrote a letter in 2013 when we made an offer on a house that wasn't on the market. Owner didn't sell, but both he and our agent agreed that it was a pretty fucking good letter
We got a super sappy letter when we sold our house in Amarillo. We sold it to someone else because they gave us more money.
If letters were opening the risk of litigation for fair housing discrimination, then videos (which more clearly demonstrate a minority status) seem like a big issue.
Follow up: I fixed all of this easily. Just had to dig up around the heads and figure out what the problem was. Just a bunch of replacement parts. The plastic one they sell a tube with the head connected so i just swapped it out. I bought this kit for the pump and it worked perfectly : The third pic was tougher to fix. I tried to get the piece inside the PVC with needle nose pliers and had no luck. I went to Lowe's and bought one of these and it came out quickly. I didn't have to cut the pipe to make the repair which made it really easy.
You built that yourself? Looks great! So does your yard outside the fence. What are you using it for? I was thinking about building something similar to that, but a little bigger to have a pool house/place for people visiting to stay.
Believe this is the one I have. Haven't had any issues with it. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Rinnai-Sup..._PmWTYc7Wvj0TE5sJdgaAriyEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Thanks! It's mostly been my FIL. I've helped here and there, but he's designed it all. We also did the fence ourselves. We still need to add 2 boards in between, but he wanted to get started on the shed, as the fence is usable as is. We plan on adding a work bench into the shed. Will keep our riding mower, other misc equipment (power washer, tiller, etc), tools, other random storage stuff.
My grandpa was an electrical engineer and his handwriting always amazed me. I asked him how he does it and he said, "a ruler and a little extra time".
