Why? You don't think Lynch is legit? Just because he's had a rough start doesn't mean he won't end up working out...and just because Bubic is rolling now doesn't mean he won't come back to earth. This being baseball, small sample sizes, and all...
It has nothing to do with Lynch being legit or not. 3 starts won’t define his career clearly. It’s all about what DM and the coaching staff knew or didn’t know. Lynch was clearly tipping his pitches, Matheny admitted it. So we either called him up knowing this was a flaw or our coaches hadn’t picked it up after all the time spent with him while the other MLB coaches saw it after 1 start. Either option is inexcusable. Now, the rest of the situation. Junis was our 2nd best starter, Lynch is called up so we can “improve our bullpen depth by moving Jake out there.” Junis melts in the new bullpen role. Then Bubic, who has starting MLB experience, has to be shoved into the starting hole that Dan left and has dominated. Now, Alec Lewis has said that they are making Lynch pitch strictly from the stretch and changing some of his mechanics. I was excited as anyone to see Lynch in the show but he wasn’t ready. Dayton wanted to show off a new toy and it completely backfired. Will any of this matter in 3 years when it counts? Probably not, but it was still a bad move.
Salvy needs to go back to god damn little league to learn how to block a ball in the dirt It worked but Christ, just try to use your giant body to block a pitch for once
Wait, I saw Hahn was coming up. When did we bring Zimmer back? Secondly, why didn’t we pitch him in the 7th!?
Im so lost. I was for sure Verne was on 610 this afternoon saying Hahn was back in KC on the big league roster.
I'm going tomorrow. I ask you: A: what tailgate beer should I bring B: what stadium beer should I get. Craft and draft is closed which sucks but I'm open to suggestions
Hahn got pulled from his rehab assignment, which some people assumed meant he was joining the royals, but he apparently had a setback
PSA: the pre-game show starts 30 mins earlier and is the negro leagues special today. Set DVRs accordingly.
If you like IPA’s and want a heavier beer for the parking lot, City Barrel’s Rad AF is pretty tasty imo. Otherwise, I vote an 18 pack of Modelo’s. I was drinking Boulevard Wheats and Pale Ale’s in the stadium when I went earlier this month.
if you had a choice of this year’s royals team - as constructed - making a run at the wild card OR blowing up this roster and getting some of these younger dudes some major league experience? I’d almost rather tank and see some young talent in KC
Craft and Draft was open to the public! A little disappointed in the selection though. It was almost entirely Boulevard on tap. Which is fine, I was just hoping for more variety.
I’m over umpires. They’re so fucking sensitive when they get called on anything at all. Bring on the robots.
I'm too lazy to look, but I'm sure there have already been 274 grumpy grandpas tweeting to Whit that he should be spending his time in the batting cage instead of horsing around on the twitter net.
