Imagine a healthy, motivated Brooks? Could be an all-timer. But he plays it off like he doesn't care, doesn't practice... just relies on his raw talent. But here's the rub. Brooks hasn't closed in a major since he rinsed his shot on 12 at Augusta in '19. He's got scar tissue in places other than his knee. He'll likely win another major but at 31 with knee issues he better commit to the game and quit playing the lackadaisical anti-hero. Bryson wants it all and he isn't afraid to let you know it. Who's living the more authentic life? Tough to say but it's clear this rivalry is fun to follow.

He hasn't really accomplished anything on the Brooks always wants to look like the tough guy. He tried to big time the field at Harding Park and just ate shit. He was a stone cold killer when he had it from Erin Hills through Bethpage, but since then he's been irrelevant. The idea that Ponte Vedra, who has nothing to do with the US Open and PGA Champ, a tour that actively tries to whitewash outside accomplishments, is going to give him a dime in PIP when he really contributes nothing to their tour is laughable. They would love nothing more than for Brooks to be the ringleader on over to PGL and for that league to fail. They are going to rely on keeping Rory, JT, Speith, who they definitely have, and let the PGL try to make a go with Brooks, a 50+ Phil, Poulter and Paul Casey and try their luck.

He won the WM this year. Think this is a pretty wild take but I don't know. Also, I'm not sure you can have a system for paying guys and then not follow it for someone you don't like. Seems like it would be a big scandal.

Brooks is No 7 in the World, won the Waste Management 2 MONTHS AGO...had surgery...finished 2nd in the PGA...and is irrelevant. Yeah I don’t think our guy watches golf and not really sure what he’s doing ITT.
All players get to tell the tour, USGA, etc. if there are any players they would prefer not to play with. Doesn't guarantee anything but in general they try to honor that.
