I think because they don't want players breaking clubs or tee boxes for slow play. I could be wrong, it was a while back, but Sergio was so pissed at JB Holmes slow play he broke a tee marker after a bad shot. You could see it just building up. And then said a bunch of profanity in Spanish. Who knows, though? And Brooks obviously can't stand anything about Dechambeau, including his ridiculous slow play.
It was awesome. We played black in the morning then red in the afternoon. We rode both rounds. I’m glad we did bc around hole 11 on the afternoon round my back started grabbing on me. Walking would have been brutal. First time I’ve played 2 rounds in one day since my back surgery. If you’re doing multiple rounds in the day I advise riding. Black is up there as one of my favorite courses I’ve played if not my favorite. I love the challenge of the greens. So huge and so many mounds/valleys. I played decent but had a lot of chunked shots. Probably gave away 10 strokes on bad hits. Shot an 87. Ate lunch at the red/blue course. Grilled grouper sandwich was great. I liked the red course but after playing the black, the greens felt “normal” even though they were challenging. We played the tips on the red. Shot par 36 on the front, then my back started acted up and ended up shooting an 84. We got paired with a father/son. The son is a college golfer and it was awesome watching him swing. On one of the holes the dad hit his second shot into a blind green from where he was. We looked for his ball for about 5 minutes until the son walked up to tap his ball in that he stuck a foot from the pin and said there’s a ball in the cup. That was a cool moment to be a part of for his eagle. The son played all 3 courses and felt the same as me that black is the best. I’m going to take another trip or 2 back this summer. Will probably play black every time I go back.
Awesome, love to hear it. We’ve got two rounds each day we’re there, I’d like to walk the first and potentially cart the second but if the weather is nice enough I’m open to walking as much as possible. We’re just a twosome so if you’re dying to get out for another day at the end of October we can see if there’s still openings in our tee times, I guess that goes for you too Jigga
Yes, I guess it's a little confusing. I was just try to add on to your point, some players don't like playing with each other.
Garage hitting bay mostly good to go. Skytrak lands in less than 24 hours. Life is about to be nice I hope
Yeah, I’m worried about that. I got a 6x10 mat from Net Return that is okay but feels a little thin. Will have to upgrade after the first surgery.
I’ve got that good news beat. I had my car broken into today. 2 pairs of golf shoes, Golf bag 3 dozen golf balls(2tp5 one mtb black) Bag boy push cart. all safe, whomever broke in took two gym bags.
NCAA championships started today in Scottsdale. Go Dons and Dores http://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=22822
Quick update after day 1 with the Skytrak: - Setup was way easier than advertised - Data visualization from bag mapping is amazing - I fucking hate golf
played today, it was hot and sunny but a little cloud cover. course was in great shape. golf really just is the best sometimes.
Was just feeling good after a fun round. Here’s a photo from my round, approach shot into 18 after the drive.
it's a very narrow shot to the eye, but with p wedge or 9 iron in hand going over either tree is not exactly difficult. that said, I slightly thinned a p wedge just over the green and tapped in a 5.
I’ve got a 3 day golf trip next weekend in Tulsa where I’m going to be playing frequently for the first time in a couple months. Group of 16 members from my course going over there and staying in a mansion owned by a guy from here.
I know the Canyons at Blackjack Ridge is the first one. I’ll have to get back to you on the others bc I can’t remember
Thoughts? I’ve only played Battle Creek, Southern Hills once, and the course formerly known as Spunky Creek
Of course it was. My GF asked me earlier if Oklahoma was the same time zone as us , and I said “Yes, just 30 years behind”
They had a big renovation of parts of the course and clubhouse last year and I haven’t been since a couple years before that. It stays pretty busy because it can be booked very cheap online. It’s a really short course but has a really awesome view of Tulsa on a par 3 that’s a couple hundred feet off a cliff
Our club is named Indian Hills. Wonder just how many of them are out there. Playing Pensacola CC this morning. They got hit pretty bad by the hurricane last fall so will be interesting to see the shape it is in
